the KNICKS:

- think of them as arsenal (hasn’t won the premier league title/made it to the finals and won a championship in FOREVER, so there is a lot of pressure …)

- another way they relate to arsenal is their champion’s league run vs the knicks finals run— arsenal played against “easier” teams, just like the knicks beat “easier” teams (the atlanta hawks, the 76ers, and cavs. the only team who really gave them a hard time was the hawks… while the 76ers and cavs didn’t win a single game against the knicks!!)

- their fans are hungry and desperate for a trophy!! after every loss and win fans will literally crowd outside to celebrate, cry, get mad, sweep the floor (meaning when a team wins every game in a series), or just go batshit insane.

- has a very well known celebrity courtside, you will often see: spike lee, tracy morgan, timothee chalamet and kylie jenner (who is friends with jordyn woods, whose boyfriend, Karl Anthony Towns (also known as KAT) plays for the knicks. to a lot of nba fans, he seems “fruity” because of his voice and his demeanor— they think he plays “soft”, which kind of isn’t true, but often faces homophobia despite not being apart of the LGBTQ community. tbh i don’t think he’s gay, he’s literally just dominican), and ben stiller

- the knicks also have teammates who played for the same team in college and won a national championship together, at villanova. they’re known as the novaknicks! originally it was jalen brunson, josh hart, mikal bridges, and donte divincenzo (who is no longer included since he got traded to the minnesota timberwolves 😔)

- to some fans on tumblr and twt, they consider the knicks and spurs match up as a “yaoi off” = gay off.. the knicks have: jalen brunson (the captain of the team, he’s 6’2 so he’s short for a basketball player but he’s willing to do whatever it takes to win. his dad was also a knick but he sucked ass) is often paired with josh hart (better on defense than offense sometimes— he hated jalen brunson during their college days, but eventually became roommates/friends…they have so much lore together but the most recent gay incident between them was when the knicks won the nba cup— a tournament during the nba season— josh hart put his thumb up jalen brunson’s ass in PUBLIC and on LIVE TV)
