I’d… buy you dinner to make up for it? You like burgers, don’t you?

“Depends on the type of burger. I’m not too into the whole ‘meat’ thing but veggie burgers are something I’m always down for.”

“Red eleven sounds pretty lucky. I’d go for it.”

“You think so?” Will said, raising a brow at the person next to them. “If I trust you and this blows up in my face... well... I’d be a little upset.” They said, trying to sound like they weren’t actually considering it.

“I bet that’s what Ted Bundy said at one moment or another” they hinted with a rose brow before chuckling lightly, shooting the other a smile “They are scary, I get it. It’s just unfair, suffering the punishment without having fun first, kind of makes you feel like taking a bottle and running off” Jamie smirked mischievously to the other before turning to the bartender, ordering a beer for each, “You okay?”

“That’s exactly what it feels like...” Will said smiling. They nodded their head in response to the new question. “Yeah, just overthinking things as usual. I tend to be way too in my own head to get my thoughts across with my words.” They shrugged. “Gets worse when I’m drunk though, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“Resent it all you want babe, you look like trouble” She smiled a little, before shrugging her shoulders. “It’s not that bad to look like trouble. I do too. Most people think I’m always up to something” 

“That’s funny, I don’t see it,” Will said sarcastically. They added on a laugh so she knew they were actually kidding. “I’d suggest that two people who look like trouble make some trouble but I'd already promised you I'd be good. Maybe there’s some safe amount of trouble?” 

‘’It’s okay, I would’ve done that for anybody who was being treated unfairly’’ He granted with a soft smile before taking a seat on his tables and gesturing the young man to do the same. ‘’I’m Mayor Lewis, you can call me Jeremiah, though. You are…?’’ 

“Oh... Mayor... nice. I mean it’s good to meet you and all that.” Will said, trying not to come across in a bad light. “I’m Wilhelm Engel, most people just call me Will. I don’t really do anything important but nothing illegal so don’t worry too much.”

“Well I’m not going to disagree with him. Because you do look you’re up to no good” Rolling her eyes, she couldn’t help but feel sorry for the bouncers. It was bad enough they had to deal with the likes of her. The one in front of her. Oh dear. “Rose-Marie. Nice to actually have a name to the face” 

“I resent that comment. I do not. It’s just my face.” Will said, sticking out their lip in a pout. “Yes, it is nice. And you have a lovely name at that.” They said smiling. “And I promise I won’t drag you down with me.”

“Yeah, that sounds like a much more entertaining night.” She laughed just before holding out her hand. “Now consider me your personal tour guide if you’re looking for something fun and drama free.” Smiling, Jacelyn then kicked off her heel and began walking. “I guess you can say that. I used to spend a lot of time out here strictly for going to the bars and partying, I guess. So, I was able to get the lay of the land before actually moving here.”

“I’ll take that. Sounds like a super great time.” Will laughed. “That probably helped you quite a bit in the long run. When... or rather if... I ever leave I hardly know what bars and casinos are the ‘good’ ones or not. New York on the other hand, we could have six drinks for free in five minutes if I was around.” They said, slightly musing on the past. 

miles turned to share a grin with his companion. there was definitely no going back from this now, if they made it in, it would be legend. however the story of mr. fitzherbert seemed to be wearing as thin as the bouncer’s patience. but then again, what was a reward without the risk? “i wouldn’t mind going into the VIP area. what do you say…” miles leaned in to inspect the bouncer’s badge, “don–okay, you do you i guess. what do you say don? care to oblige mr. fitzherbert’s golden child? remember, you’re dealing with a billion who owns a lot of tall buildings with nice pot plants in them. lots of pot plants, and some of them don’t even need to be there!”

Will tried to keep from laughing, they had never had a good poker face. It was needless to say they only had a little bit more time left on this scene before it went south so they tried to play along as best they could. “Yes, uh... Don. He’s exactly right and I’m sure my father would be so very upset about this whole thing. If you just let us in we can shove this all under the rug and I’ll be sure my father makes it worth your while...” They paused before reaching into their wallet for a few bills. “In fact, take this to start.” The bouncer seemed like he was buying it more now, with the money on the table.

Oh sure. I’m always down for getting to know new people… or know old people better. Jacelyn is very intriguing to me, Jamie seems like a lovely person, and I’ve only ever heard good things about Ophelia. But I’m sure there are more people out there.
