awaken my spirit

It’s not about who you are or what you’ve done. It’s about who He is (in us) and what He has done for us.

No matter what he does, every person on earth plays a central role in the history of the world. And normally he doesn’t know it.

So what? You failed your finals. You gained some weight. So what? You’re single again. You lost your job. So what? What now? You live. You try again. That’s what.

We don’t feel forgiveness we decide forgiveness.

When you really listen to another person from their point of view, and reflect back to them that understanding, it’s like giving them emotional oxygen.

Sad is something I can deal with when I’m aware of its source. When I’m able to take time out to develop a solution and work my way back to a healthier state of mind. It’s the not knowing that kills me. This vague air of unhappiness I cannot understand, escape or destroy.

Every sin produces blindness; and as sin increases, so does the blindness increase. God is our light; as much, therefore, as the soul withdraws from God, so much the more blind does she become.

Teach me to do your will,    for you are my God; may your good Spirit    lead me on level ground.

I have not fallen in love with a body, but merely a soul, and that has made all the difference.
