If you are deeply moved by a work of art, if you have a profound or transformative experience through a work of art, that doesn't just come from the art, or the artist(s) who made it. It comes from within you. Something in you responded to something in the art, but that part of you that responded already existed inside you.

And that part of you that saw the art and took meaning from it? It's still there. No one can take that part of you away. Even if that specific work of art goes away. Even if it stops meaning the same thing to you that it did before. Even if something happens to actively ruin it for you.

It sucks, I'm not saying it doesn't. And people who sneer at that and call it a silly or frivolous concern aren't really worth listening to, in my opinion. Art is powerful and human beings sometimes have powerful, transcendental emotional responses to it and if you had an experience like that with Good Omens, you aren't the first person to connect so strongly to a story and you won't be the last. It's part of being a person. And if you've treasured a work of art in your heart and then something happens that turns that experience sour for you, it sucks and it's okay to be upset and to grieve that.

- FULL AND IMMEDIATE COMMITMENT WITH ZERO BULLSHIT because this man could not live one more second without her being his,

- defended to her mother,

- paraded around the ton and in front of her worst enemy’s face,

- the most utterly reverent sex scene in the history of the show,

- an engagement ring that matched his mother’s because of the parallel friends to lovers love story,

- and him constantly worried out of his mind that he wasn’t good enough for her

I mean, maybe I’m a little too modern but that beats a promenade and flavored ice dates and calling hours by literal lightyears. That angel girl was thoroughly — damn nearly aggressively — romanced.
