Red, who later names themself “Cara” as suggested by Seth, is a red flower Kris made when they were a kid and gifted to Asgore

Haven’t given them much lore yet, other than the that they tend to copy the other’s mannerisms in order to feel more “real” in a sense

Unfortunately, it remains to be seen what’s going to be done– if anything– in honor of it. There hasn’t been ANY merchandise announced, and the movie was notably absent from this year’s crop of Rankin/Bass keepsake ornaments from Hallmark.

Even within the Rankin/Bass fan community, there’s been radio silence about the anniversary. I find that so surprising and saddening! ☹️It’s one of the big original three Rankin/Bass specials and one of the longest-running holiday specials in television history… it’s iconic and it deserves to be celebrated!

(And if you’re thinking “honey, it’s only October”… I’ve already seen stuff being planned for Frosty’s 50th, and that’s not until next year!)
