According to The Better India, a team of researchers have used a prototype that will be based on graphene-coated electrodes that can catalyse the process of oxidation of ethyl alcohol into acetic acid. Graphene is a by-product of carbon, generated from waste products and wild grasses. . . . How will it work: . The process is quite simple. The driver will have to blow on the graphene sensor to start the car. This will help in analysing if the driver is drunk or not. If the alcohol is present in a quantity higher than prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Act, the engine will not start. The highlight of the device is that you just cannot cheat the sensor. This is not all. The imaging and object module sensor will alert co-passengers if the driver is falling asleep at the steering wheel by analysing the eye-movements. Isn't that great?
