I'm Adopted
My wife’s family tonight at our CHRISTmas get together decided we would start a new tradition where you told who you were and your story of salvation. I didn’t get picked to share mine, so I thought I would.
My two stories kinda go hand and hand.
Who am I?
I am a story of adoptions. My mother was adopted by my grandparents when she was a young girl. She met my father and in 1981 I was born/adopted by my parents. I wasn’t officially adopted by my parents, but that will be explained later.
Many years later in 2006, I was adopted into my wife’s family as well as her into mine. I always grew up in the church, but was never saved or baptized. My wife was a little further in her walk with Christ and we started going to church at Holland Chapel Baptist Church after trying out several churches.
My Salvation?
I had a heavy heart and God had been tugging at my heartstrings to give my life to Him. During the invitation on December 9, 2007 I looked at my wife and told her that it was time.
On December 16, 2007 I was adopted again by my Heavenly Father!!! When He died on that cross I was Adopted By Blood! When I was raised from those waters I was cleansed from my sins because of His sacrifice. Nothing in my life has been the same since then.
I’m adopted by those on this Earth because ultimately I’m His.
I can’t wait for that day that I am adopted one last time…into His Heavenly family.

So.Um.Yeah. Revisited
So. Um. Yeah.
I am back...again.
I wrote a post at the beginning of the year and just wanted to update on how my 2012 Bucket List (not New Year's Resolution) went.
1. I would really like to read through my Bible this year. I have said that many times, but I have this urge to really do it. RESULTS:Didn't read through the bible, but I did do 3 or 4 reading plans.
2. I would like to race my R/C car at a couple of races this year. I have a lot of fun driving this thing and think it would be fun to race. I by no means am a super competitive person. At least not to the point where I beat myself up about losing anyways. So I think it would be a blast to see where I stand.  RESULTS:Still haven't done a race this year. Did move from a nitro car to an electric car...which in my opinion is the way to go!
3. Same as above but on a dirt bike. Now I just have to get me a dirt bike. Or… Find somebody to sponsor somebody with only one days experience on a track. What?!? It could happen.  RESULTS:Got me a dirt scooter...2002 Honda CR125...and have raced 4 races now. It is a ton of fun! Most importantly it is something that I can enjoy doing with my boys. We even started a race team named Team R4H, with other riders joining on. FYI...my best finish is a 3rd in the 2-Stroke Open class.
4. I would really like to run in a marathon. Here is the key…without passing out!  RESULTS:Not gonna happen. But I did get me a mountain bike to ride!!!
Overall I think I did okay on my 2012 Bucket List...but the year's not over yet!

So. Um. Yeah.

Um. So. Yeah. Part 1
Been a while since I posted anything. Got a lot on my mind for 2012. New blog tonight!
Thankful
We just finished our last Thanksgiving meal and it got me to thinking about the things that I am thankful for. So here is my top ten..(not in any particular order)
Family - not to be biased but I have the greatest family in the world.
My Heavenly Father - he continues to show me each day that he does love me more.
Friends - I have a great core of true friends.
Freedom - the freedom to do the things I do and worship the God that I do.
Kids - I have two wonderful kids who are truly amazing and show me what it means to love.
Wife - I don't think another woman could put up with my crazy ideas and hobbies. I love her more every day.
Parents - I have loving parents who have been there for me through the good times and the bad times.
Those not with us... - I have had some pretty special people in my life to teach me different things that I will carry with me forever.
My Church Family - they encourage me to want to be more like Christ.
My brother and sister - I know that no matter how many times I fail at something, they are always there to tell me that it is ok and that they love me no matter what.
Those are just a few things that I am thankful for. You should make a list to re-evaluate the things that are truly important in your life.
