Hatano is def my style preference, but he's not a good balance to the MC. He's quiet and lowkey, just like how the MC is.

You know who isn't quiet and lowkey? Mizumoto. Mizumoto wants to PUNCH Mob, because he's such a chatter box in his own head. Plus, Mizumoto is the only one who knows that part of mob, which means he's already dealing with a more true vision of mob then Hatano is.

Like if MC were to fall to any flag, it would have to be someone he never accounted for, and therefore can't dismantle, and Hatano is just too generic a bl character to be worth the payoff of MC falling for a man.

I want it to be Minamoto (the mind reader); he knows the most about MC, and their dynamics are similar yet different enough to play off each other. Minamoto lives his life according to what he overhears, while MC does the same by avoiding tropes.

And most importantly, Minamoto will be able to counter any MC's flag-destroying plans by reading his mind.

I'm putting on my fujo tin foil hat and taking this as a sign. Minamoto's flag is getting powerful.

Because I can picture it so clearly, of Minamoto finally finding the protagonist and confronting him, MC doing his best to disengage, and being baffled at how Minamoto has a counter to everything he can think of.

Minamoto is also baffled because he did not have a plan other than to find the annoying yapper and is at a loss for what to do next.

For once, MC actually lets his guard down. This is a rare find: a man who has no flags to raise and might *gasp* actually have a friend or at least someone he's willing to seek out to hang out with. After a few chapters together, Minamoto sees the bl happenings that MC won't stfu about and believes this may be a bl world after all.

In my heart of hearts, MC falls first and crashes out badly.
