“Mom doesn’t mean it,” Audrey said as she watched her sister after yet another argument with their mother.

“We all know that you’re her favorite.”

Mal sighed, throwing her bag onto her bed.  She was frustrated, as she typically was after her mother treated her this way.  A worthless daughter in her mother’s eyes, only fit for the first three letters of her name.  “Says the one that she’s never expected to follow in her footsteps.  Must be nice.”  Yeah, sure she was snippy right now.  Their mother always put her into a bad mood.

“You don’t think I don’t know that?” Audrey demanded, she didn’t want to fight with her sister. Especially when Maleficent was sending one of them away to Auradon.

This wasn’t right, the pink haired VK frowned in confusion. She’d been torn away from everything familiar, her home, her crew, even her mother and sister. And now these heroes were trying to tell her that her family wasn’t really her family. That she had been kidnapped as a baby, and that her real mother and father had been waiting for her return.

And then there was this little gremlin, hugging her as if to squeeze the life out of her. Uncomfortably, Audrey peeled the brat off her, she did after all have a reputation to uphold.

“That’s enough kid, people will think I’ve gone soft.”

Honey-brown eyes stared up curiously at the girl, at her sister. This was the girl Mama and Papa had been waiting for all these years, her disappearance being one of the many reasons Adora had been kept so close. The reason guards were posted outside her bedroom door and balcony every day and night. She smiled up at her, letting her dimples show. 

“I don’t know, people.” Audrey shrugged, on The Isle her mother had eyes everywhere, watching her daughter’s for signs of weakness. Audrey was used to all sorts of insults, but she’d never been called ‘silly’ and told that she was liked. Shouldn’t the kid be terrified by her?

“Kid, you got to work on your insult game, that was weak.” Audrey scoffed, she could feel the heroes watching her with the kid.
