now that I've taken a step back, I realize it's weird because I never could really consider me as a music genre fan in particular since I have special interest fixation on one band (and their genealogy by extent) and therefore I appreciate the music genre...but not the other way around...I need glitter to attract my attention...I struggle to get into smaller bands or niche bands...I forced myself for years to that out of not feeling valid enough as a fan...sometimes I had good surprises and good discovery but it's rare...it's v hard to want to discover bands outside of my comfort zone since my late teens/early adult years...esp because my special interest bands always have been in the top 3 most popular one in the genre...I struggle to care to explore more of the genre idk, that's my special interest way of functionning
