she’s a girl who has the taste for finer things in life . she wants escargot , champagne in a bucket of ice , an expensive dinner . roses the day of ! three hours of complimenting just her is also acceptable in lieu of expensive food .

aurora definitely prefers to give physical touch but she loves to receive gifts or words of affirmation .

“Maybe sugars what I need, A!” Daisy defended her choice. “Okay, coffee, that’s settled. I’m pretty sure the coffee shop still does brownies so I can get chocolate at the same time!” She smiled, instantly throwing her things back in to her bag.

Aurora couldn’t understand that statement. Perhaps she was a little too harsh on herself, but she stayed away from mostly anything that contained sugar or dairy. Not only did it make her feel better, but it was what was best for her throat and body. What was a theatre major without their voice? Or a cheerleader without a bangin’ bod? She could make the exception in instances of coffee, though. Mostly because she couldn’t consume black coffee. “Coffee it is, then,” Aurora put her textbook in her purse, because she didn’t believe in carrying backpacks, and grabbed her belongings. “Are you thinking somewhere on campus or off?”

now, alex wasn’t someone who would normally get into trouble with anyone, ever. he didn’t like the whole confusion that came with it, and he especially didn’t like conflict. he was the kind of person that would rather much ignore his problems until they went away, but it didn’t seem like he could just ignore aurora, especially since she had been talking to him for longer than he had antecipated. at the other’s question, alex raised an eyebrow at the other and nodded his head slowly, before motioning towards his hearing aid. “um… yes. well, only partially, you know? but i’m kind of deaf, you know?” he said with a small nod of his head, feeling his cheeks turning red at that interaction. he didn’t know if anyone else was looking at them, but he really didn’t know what else to say to the other. “oh, i did? well, i’m… i’m sorry, i really didn’t mean to do that, i just didn’t see you and that’s why i kind of cut in front you. i’m sorry.” he repeated, nodding his head agan and then taking a step back and allowing the other to take her spot - the last thing he would do to someone was cut in line, so of course he was going to give aurora her place back. “please, just get ahead of me. i really didn’t mean to do that.” he said, still blushing.

At Alex’s mention of him actually being deaf, Aurora immediately felt like an idiot. Maybe if she had been a tad more observant by looking at his hearing aid or his previous signs, she wouldn’t have made such an idiot response. Most would probably back out of the conversation as a whole, or apologize, but Aurora wasn’t someone who believed she made mistakes, and she tended to get more angry when she did make mistakes. “Not to be like a total bitch,” she started off, but quickly backtracked. “Actually, I do mean to be a total bitch. Maybe if you’re going to keep that shit off, be a little bit more of your surroundings. What if I was like... the president? Would you cut in front of the president? No, and you’d feel like a fucking idiot for doing so,” she rambled, as if she had any philosophical point to make. “So, maybe just like be more aware. Comprende, hombre?” At this point, Aurora could feel patrons staring at her, but that wasn’t something that bothered her. She turned her back to Alex, now in front of him in the line, as she waited patiently in line. “Oh,” she turned her shoulder to look at him. “And apology totally not accepted.”

Cambrie thought that ice skating could be a fun thing to do, since she had been slightly avoiding her friend she knew if she didn’t go out and do something with her soon, she would catch on. “Oh, not in a little bit but I feel like it is very similar to dancing” she laughed softly fitting her gloves onto her hands after she secured her skates onto her feet. “Don’t worry I wont let you fall my love” she chuckled softly, she did not get too many opportunities to ice skate but she was excited for this one. She stood and followed waddling to the entrance of the rink glancing at her “If you fall we are going down together” she laughed softly.

Aurora had clocked the avoidance. Not in any way that made her suspicious, there had been many times that Cambrie and her had gone days without even hanging out, but since the ski trip Aurora just had a vibe that something was going on. It wouldn’t be something she’d question unless needed, but she did have an eye peeled. “That’s what I’m thinking,” the blonde agreed, standing up and resting a hand against a wall to keep herself secure. As the two moved past to the ice rink, Aurora still had a hand resting against the railing until she fully touched down on the ice. “I’m not going to fall,” she protested. “I don’t fall,” in fact, Aurora didn’t plan on doing anything that wasn’t anything less than graceful. She probably wouldn’t be a pro, but she had more confidence in her athletic abilities to fall over like a third grade buffoon. She let her feet hit the ice and started slowly skating, getting a feel for the feeling of the ice. “This isn’t too bad,” she commented, skating alongside Cambrie. “You haven’t been answering my texts,” she said, deciding to get straight to the point as she looked at her best friend. But... there wasn’t a need for accusations, just curiosity. “Busy semester?” She asked with a quirked brow.

there were just days where alex didn’t feel like talking to anyone, but he still needed to go on with his day and work on things for his masters. he would end up heading to the library, but he thought he would get some coffee first so he had something to drink on his way to the library and so he made his way to the nearest coffee shop he knew and walked in, looking around for a few moments. his hearing aid was turned off, which meant that the usual noise from the coffee shop didn’t bother him - he was hoping that he could order his coffee with just sign language. as he walked in line, he didn’t notice that he had walked in front of aurora and taken her place. and of course, he only realized that she was there when she walked in front of him, watching her mouth move, as he raised an eyebrow. “what did you say?” he signed, as he looked at aurora and see that wasn’t helping, as he finally turned on his hearing aid. “sorry, did you say something?” he asked, as he looked at her, hoping that he hadn’t done anything wrong.

Aurora was a girl with a short fuse. Not someone who was necessarily known for for having a normal temper, as she waited in line for her coffee like normal people did, she was flabbergasted to say the least when Alex had walked right in front of her. Sure, some people wouldn’t care as much especially if they weren’t in a rush. Aurora didn’t have any plans for the day, but how could someone just cut in front of her? Did she look like a cuttable person? As if her her body and mouth worked first instead of her mind, she had stomped in front of Alex, immediately chiding him for his decision to cut in front of her. There were multiple sentences that probably went along the lines of who do you think you are? You just cut in front of me! Were you never taught manners? And once Alex had turned his hearing aid on, the first thing he probably heard out of her mouth was, “are you deaf?” If Aurora had been a tad more observant to Alex’s signing and hearing aid, she’d confirm that herself, but instead she was just running on her own tangent due to her thinking he was fully ignoring her. “I said, you cut in front of me. Don’t you know the simple rules of cutting in line? You don’t do it unless you’re on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: February 10th.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: The Skice Rink.

Sports outside of cheer and dance always made Aurora feel... uneasy. The risk of injury, the risk of not looking absolutely flawless, it was a challenge but ice skating? That was essentially on par for Aurora and something she could arguably handle. Meeting up with Cambrie at the Skice Rink, she was tying up the laces on her skates. “Have you ever done this before?” She asked, turning to glance at her best friend. “Because like, the last time I ever did this was in middle school,” she admitted. Naturally being from somewhere like Alaska, most would think that Aurora was accustomed to cold weather and winter sports but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. 

“I know we’ve only been studying for twenty minutes but I need to stretch my legs. Can we go and walk and get coffee or something?” Daisy asked the person who had somehow made the mistake of asking Daisy to study with them - an activity that required Daisy to be quiet and focus. “Or at least some chocolate or something? That has caffeine in it, right? Chocolate.” @egustarters​

Daisy may have been studying, but five minutes into their session, Aurora had already stuck her phone into her Intro to Anthropology textbook to scroll away on a meaningless Instagram excavation instead. “Chocolate is full of sugar, D,” she pointed out with furrowed brows. As if the coffee she wasn’t looking forward to wouldn’t be filled with the same. “And it’s not good for my voice,” a pause. “I can go for a coffee though.”

𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗘𝗥

WHERE - the record store (blah blah records, if u may)  @egustarters​

in this last hour before closing time, it would usually be empty in the store and no one would come in. so it would be left all alone for jack, and louis usually trusted him to close up most nights. he was so confident in the fact that no one ever came in at this time, that he’d always have his music at full blast and would smoke freely in the store – the one thing stopping him from doing that were customers, since louis never minded if it was after hours. but this time, just his luck, a customer came in – and the music must have been loud enough because he didn’t hear the door open but instead, they stood in front of him as he sat cross-legged on the counter, the book he was reading in one hand and cigarette in the other. he puts that out, lowers the music a bit, and hops off the counter. “can i help you?” he asks, as if they hadn’t walked in on him treating the store like his living room. oh well, damage already done.

What was it about records that were so appealing? Aurora didn’t know, not in this day and age with streaming! Unfortunately, they did seem to hold up in recent years and the blonde had made it her mission to get her brother a little gift. It had been a crapshoot as she walked to the store, knowing this late at night it could be closed, but that was the adventure to her. Or, she’d be shit out of luck and just come back again. As Aurora pushed the door open, she was in luck but instead of being greeted by warmth she was instead presented to the heinous sounds of whatever Jack was playing. “Yeah, isn’t that like... your job?” she rhetorically asked. “Or is looking like a total 80s romcom reject just a choice?”

Austin’s mouth dropped open as the girl told him that looked like a weirdo sitting alone at the fire pit roasting marshmallows to his hearts intent. “How does roasting marshmallows on my own make me weird?” Wasn’t this the reason someone brought there here? He was trying out something new to see if he was good at it. Unfortunately, roasting marshmallows wasn’t for him. He looked around as the girl called out a false alarm to everybody else standing nearby-ish. Austin pressed his hands over his face as the girl shouted the word jizz out loud to everyone else. “You seriously need a mute button or something, Aurora.” He let out a small chuckle - cheeks reddening as the seconds passed. “Who goes around shouting about masturbating?”

“I didn’t say that,” Aurora shook her head, confidently. “I was just repeating what you said. Duh,” she stated. “I kind of have an amazing memory like that,” she most certainly did not. Maybe she could remember her lines, but anything else left her brain in a matter of minutes. But, it was all potato-potatoh to her. After all, Austin didn’t jizz anywhere at all! So, any panic that Aurora did have left her body immediately. “Why would you want to put a mute button on me? How could I ever talk?” She asked. Aurora was like Ariel. She needed her voice to live! Or... was the movie not like that at all? “Um, Austin, need I remind you I’m a girl in the 21st century,” she gasped, clutching a hand to her chest for dramatic flair. “You could have been a pervert for all I knew. I thought it was totally appropriate.”

“oh yeah? where from?” alex questions, “because i could never get used to the fuckin’ cold in england, which is how i ended up in monarch.” he says, placing himself down on the couch next to her in front of the fireplace. “i do not want to face this amount of snow sober.”

“Alaska,” she answered. “But I’m not exactly fond of the cold either, hence why I’m in California,” then she tilted her head sideways at him. “And because I’m gonna be famous one day and has anyone ever gotten famous in Alaska? No, it’s always California,” she was sure Alex didn’t need to hear her life story, but usually when someone spoke to her it often meant talking about herself until the other couldn’t bear it anymore or got her drunk enough that she’d finally focus on something else besides herself. “Well, let’s go get those drinks then,” she said, patting his leg and standing up. “You’re 21, right?” Aurora wasn’t. She could sweet talk enough bartenders or flash a fake and get by, but it seemed like the bartenders here were a little more stingy knowing it was a college trip.

Cambrie chuckled at the girl “you mean youre lucky I’m here” she joked back at her and watched her get ready quickly with a nod “yeah I figured you’d need a pick me up this morning, lets go get you some hash browns or something, and the biggest bloody marry we can find” she laughed grabbing her bag always glad to see her bestie “well tonight we will have to try again to get you into some trouble “ she smirked softly “ill try not to go to bed early on you again, or we can stay in and gossip while we drink some wine” she nodded smiling over at her blonde friend “anyway have any juicy tea to spill since last time I’ve seen you?” She asked raising her brow as they started to walk towards the cafe.

“Yeah, yeah, sure,” Aurora teased, slapping some moisturizer on her face to call it for the day until she at least got some food in her system. It was days like this that she was glad she was blessed with darker eyebrows. At Cambrie’s comments, the blonde let out a laugh and looped her arm through her best friend’s, essentially linking them together. “It’s like you know me so well, Cam-Cam,” she said, tapping her index finger to Cambrie’s nose. “I’m thinking we should do something absolutely crazy that everyone will remember,” she said, walking towards the cafe as she spoke. 

Aurora was never opposed to getting up to mischief and if it meant getting herself attention, good or bad, she was in. “What about skinny dipping in the pool? Unsanitary, but it’d give that blog something to write about. Bonus points if we make out and there’s pics,” she was purely just shooting the shit with ideas. Was she wanting the gossip blog to write something on her just to sticking it to them? Absolutely not! She just thought they should talk about her more and she’d do just about anything to get a mention. Sitting down at a table, she grabbed one of the menus, and peered at it. “So,” she flicked her eyes upwards. “You in?”

Logan chuckled at her story. “Need me to go beat up the person who spun you around?” He joked, nudging her. “Guess you can’t get rid of me now that we’re both at university together. I’m surprised you’ve not yelled at me for crashing trips like this.” He commented, taking a sip of his beer. “Are you having fun though?”

“Maybe,” Aurora answered. “If I can remember who did it,” she said, Aurora’s attention span was dwindling by the second and she couldn’t remember who she was even with a mere three minutes ago. “It’s because I have to deal with it anyway. I can’t keep you away from student life, no matter how hard I try,” and even in her slightly drunken state, Aurora knew she couldn’t ruin the college experience for Logan. She loved him too much to do that. “Yeah, it’s pretty fun so far. I don’t really get the whole skiing thing, though,” she shrugged. “Why are you drinking alone like a sad sap?”

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: January 28th.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: Near the fireplace.

There were so many issues Aurora was having with this power outage. First of all, she was freezing. Even though she spent nearly eighteen years in Alaska, nothing could have prepared her for the treachery she would experience of a power outage. And although they were advised to stay put where they were, Aurora decided to ignore that. She was never one for dumb rules anyway and why stay put in a room when she could venture off to the fireplace and warm up? Naturally, she should have expected a multitude of people trying to gather warmth. Spotting a slightly familiar face, she approached Mac, sitting down next to him. “Mac, isn’t it?” She iterated, praying to God she had remembered his name. “This weather is absolutely terrible. Actually scratch that,” she shook her head. “This outage is absolutely terrible.”

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐍: January 28th.

𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄: Callie and Carter’s room.

This power outage thing was not for Miss Aurora. Her phone had long run out of battery and no outlets would work. How was she supposed to live if she couldn’t see what fad Kourtney Kardashian was pushing out on Poosh? And how was she supposed to know which celebrity had died today? How was she supposed to find hot mountain men and lumberjack women on Bumble if she couldn’t peruse her dating apps? The horror of 2022! Deciding to annoy her roommate who wasn’t her roommate on the trip, she opened Callie’s door, hoping to God she was in there and hoping to God even more that anyone inside was clothed. “I think I’m gonna die,” she groaned, flopping onto the first bed she could make out with her eyes. “What do people do in the real world? Why can’t the Twitter trending page exist?” She asked, looking up at Callie in the dim light. “Are you high?”
