Pear, ecru
Pear - Where do you feel rested?
in nature, when there is no one near to keep watch of me.Ā
Ecru - How do you feel about the world today?
i suppose as worried as any other with the threat of war ever growing, but iād like to say iām optimistic. optimistic that something better waits on the other side of this.Ā
lordofthorngrove:
He couldnāt help the little smirk that curled at his lips when he saw her cheeks light up, his eyes taking in her grin as she looked at him.Ā āItās hardly appropriate talk for an event such as this,ā He agreed with a nod. Heād been around few humans with whom heād enjoyed their company, but he was easily amused by hers.Ā
He allowed her to start out of the room first before falling into step just behind her. It wouldnāt take much for him to overtake her strides, and so he made the conscious effort to stay at her speed.Ā āI agree,ā He said, his smirk widening into a grin as he looked down at the stained dress again.Ā āIām sure someone will know how to remove the stain.ā
she felt a warm relief wash over her as she made her way into the hall, the scent and sound of so many in a room enough to have her heart racing. if the lilt in the manās voice had not already accomplished doing so. if she had much sense to her she would have known that parading through the halls with any man was far from the most clever thing to do, but her desperation for any excuse to leave far exceeded any sense she still had.Ā
aurora laughed, a short and rather rare note of music that echoed through the barren hallway. it hardly mattered did it? in no time at all she would have some equally absurdly lovely gown laid before her, and another function for which to wear it. doomed once again to the same dilemma she had encountered tonight.Ā ādoes it usually work a such an excellent conversation starter my lord? destroying the gowns of unsuspecting women.ā
starfallyvaine:
A snide comment, a āyes you shouldā, a moment given in to the frustration too long traveling and too little peace had inflicted, was on the tip of her tongue, but this was a diplomatic mission, and one never truly knew who held power in a new court until one had thoroughly investigated. The twitchy little thing whoād nearly shoved her into a wall could be- not powerful herself, per se, but someone powerfulās mistress. Or friend. Probably mistress.
āNothing to apologize for, truly, if I cannot survive a brush like that then I expect I should benefit from discovering my own fragility.ā The false cheer sat awkwardly across Yvaineās face, and she doubled down on the warmth sheād learned in bits and pieces at court. āI donāt suppose most courts are this crowded even at their busiest. Are you a guest of his Majesty, or is your family among his court?ā
there was something in the womanās tone that almost had the young lady stepping backward before controlling herself. the kind of address that would of caused a young servant girl to shiver, but she maintained her smile, somehow. with each passing day it grew easier, that smile, that confident demeanour; she might have been sad, if in that moment relief had not flooded through her.Ā
regardless of her initial impulse she returned the warmth in the womanās voice, deciding that what sheād believed to have her was no more than a ghost taking advantage of her own heightened nerves.Ā āno, iām but a visitor. iāve travelled with the grimoults from calydon.ā a quick scan of the woman and she discovered there was something magnificently regal about not only her attire by the energy she exuded,Ā āand yourself?ā
You wear a mask for so long, you forget who you were beneath it.
Alan Moore,Ā V for Vendetta (via wordsnquotes)
Ā Ā Ā the gardens had long since been lunaās favorite place to hide among the palace walls. floral walls had practically been her home during her first stay here, nearly five years ago. this place, once housing hope, only seemed now to taunt her⦠serving as a reminder of stolen kisses and secret rendezvous. cursed fingertips plucked a flower from its towering partition like bush, steel eyes rolling over both its beauty and its faults.Ā
Ā Ā Ā rustling brush had luna turning her head, flower falling from its spot between her forefinger and thumb.Ā āis someone there?ā she called out, internally cursing herself before the last word had even left her lips.Ā
aurora had found herself with a suddenly renewed desire to explore, at best it was her attempt at avoiding any interaction, and at worst the fancy of a ghost. the kind of wild whims that could not belong to a lady, or any proper member of court. she would settle on it being the former, the nerves that had not ceased their firing since her arrival enough evidence of that.Ā
slowly the flowed through the gardens, finding herself further and further from the castle as if by fate, and only drawn from her reverie by the sound of a voice that came from ahead. sheād found herself somewhat concealed by a lattice of bright flowers. stepping out into where the voice might see her she spoke,Ā āmy apologies, i did not realize there was anyone else out here.ā

stefangrimoult:
He knew that being alone must still be a daunting prospect for her, as it was not so long ago that she had lost her family and home. Stefan knew all too well what it was like to lose your parents, but he still had his uncle, whereas Aurora had no family left. If he could be there to make her feel a little less isolated, then he was happy to be of service.
Glancing towards the closed door and the muffled sounds of the reception happening behind it, Stefan sighed.Ā āI suppose we must go in sooner or later.ā He assumed that Aurora had been hesitating outside of the doors out of nervousness, but at least now they could make an entrance together as a united front on behalf of Calydon.Ā āShall we?ā
it was quite unfair, she thought, to have every act of kindness tainted by the ambition thrust upon her. even then, her smile wide and eyes alight, she was struck by the image of his advisors no doubt foaming from the mouth at the thought. the two of them entering a reception together. she did her best to vanquish the thought, taking the chance to enjoy the knowledge that -at least in that moment- she was not nearly as alone as she felt.Ā
facing the door and glancing up at him she smiled, nodding before she replied,Ā āi could hardly deny you, could i?ā not that she wanted to, even if her pursuit of him was not an idea entirely her own she did admire him. if for no other reason than his kindness.Ā
She refused to be bored, chiefly because she wasnāt boring.

lordofthorngrove:
āWell, itās certainly not the worst way Iāve ruined a dress,ā He remarked, looking down at her ruined gown before he looked at himself. Most of the glass had emptied over her, but heād still gotten a little on himself in the collision. He set the now empty glass on a passing tray and looked back to her again.Ā
āAt the very least, IĀ can only offer to walk you out,ā He said, waving towards the doorway closest to them. He didnāt have the power to turn back the time to fix her dress, so he supposed that he ought to at least try to make up for it.Ā Ā āUnless you plan to remain in the ruined dress?ā
it was not like her to be so easily surprised, spending her life surrounded by servants and other colourful characters had done well in acclimatizing her. but, there was something about the stature of him alone, and the strength of his gaze that brought fire to her cheeks. a pink blaze that felt scorching. somehow she could not temper her grin, which followed a spark of amusement in her eyes.Ā āi would beg of you to share such methods with me, if i did not fear theyād sting a ladies earsā, she laughed.Ā
nodding her eyes followed his gesture, a smile unbefitting of a woman of her stature taking hold of her mouth as teasing words followed,Ā āindeed it is the least you could doā. looking over her shoulder to ensure he followed she moved towards her exit.Ā āthough iām sure the colour suits me i think it best i have it removedā.Ā
Victor had spent much more time around humands and other species in the last few months than he had in decades. In centuries. To say that he was tired of the interactions was an understatement. He wanted to get through the next few months, marry Coraline, and then be done with the nonsense of being around people.Ā
Morgana would have called him grouchy.Ā
That thought soured his mood and he pushed any thoughts of her aside.Ā
He looked down at the glass in his hand, filled with the shimmering wine, and turned his nose away in disgust. He supposed it was more to fit in than for him to actually drink. He looked around the room full of other people and contemplated making his escape. Would it be seen rude of him to leave so soon? He wouldnāt care if race relations hadnāt been so stressed for centuries.Ā
He made his way through the room, intent on at least getting a moment away from the others. He hadnāt had to travel far, thanks to the fact that heād already been in Abdera, but he still felt the distance from home keenly. Lost in his thoughts, he didnāt see the person heād run into until after the fact, knocking that glass of wine over on the pair of them.Ā āIām sorry,ā he said quickly, out of habit.Ā
how fitting that the fates themselves would wake from their slumber for the soul purpose of tormenting her. the wine spilling down the front of the gown which adorned her, a shield pierced by rusted sword and destroyed.Ā
she could not call on any great annoyance to sour her face as she looked up at the perpetrator of the crime against the fine fabric of her dress, instead wearing a wry smile as she met his eyes. surely there was some poetry in the event, some chance enacted justice. sheād spent so many minutes before her mirror, starring at the image of herself swathed in such foreign beauty, only to have it ruined in a moment. she couldnāt help but find herself oddly glad to be rid of it, especially if it would warrant her exit from this crowd.Ā
blonde curls swayed as her head tilted,Ā āyouāve made awfully quick work of ruining a dress that no doubt took weeks to fashion, i must say iām rather impressed.ā
Olive, Silver
Olive - What is your favourite food?
there was a cake i enjoyed years ago, as helena, aurora often tried her hand at baking and tried to replicate it for me on many occasions. iāve not had it since.Ā
Silver - Are you a good person?
of course i would like to say yes, but my case seems a rather hard one to plead doesnāt it? i try not to bother myself too often which such questions. what does it matter my true nature when the sins stacked against me would say otherwise.Ā

hollywood cerise
Hollywood Cerise -Ā What are your ambitions?
if you had asked me years ago the answer would of been something modest, simple, a family, a life outside of servitude. now? i suppose itās what they tell me, to marry prince stefan.Ā
stefangrimoult:
Stefan had been made aware of an unofficial reception where the different species were mingling with each other. Although it was more of a duty for his uncle, he could see that the king was in one of his moods and it was best to shoulder this responsibility on his behalf. As usual, his advisers were on hand to guide him on every tiny detail, even down to which cufflinks he should wear.Ā
It was those cufflinks that he was now fiddling with as he strode down the halls to where the reception was being held. He just couldnāt get the blasted things to sit right, and his distraction caused him to bump into someone. Stefan immediately began to issue his apologies when he realised to whom he was speaking.
Relief washed over him at the sight of a familiar face.Ā āLady Aurora. I am so glad not to be the only representative of Calydon at this reception.ā
she couldnāt quite decide, upon turning to recognize stefan, whether it was perfect it was he sheād run into or absolutely disastrous. sheād do her best to convince herself of the former being true.Ā Ā
he was kind, always unfalteringly so, it was that which made it so difficult each time she met with his advisors. it was that which had made her so reluctant to follow him to abdera. but she was not one to refuse, or put up such a fight, not so long as she inhabited the life of a florent. it was that kindness that brought a genuine smile to her face, regardless of the guilt that rippled in waves beneath the surface,Ā āas am I your highness. iād begun to worry i would be alone hereā. a lie by any definition -his impending presence was her primary reason for making the journey- but it sounded nevertheless sweet coming from her lips.Ā
