The easiest answer is The Roman Cut. The Roman Cut was made so that the enemy couldn’t grab Caesar’s troops ponytail’s and slit their throats. It made it a limited amount of hair, while still having it. 

Secondly, I could really see something like Early Sokka from Avatar:TLA Where yeah, it’s still kinda long, but the sides are cut and there’s nothing to grab at. 

Her aura took the brunt of the hit, but despite that, she felt air leave her lungs and the contents of her stomach churn in turmoil until the acidic taste came to be on her palate. There was in obvious discomfort in her body, the feeling of pain, breathlessness and nausea all mixing into one and creating pyrrha. Despite her predicament, she could not help but smile at his ability to learn and surpass challenges. 

She is all too proud of him, but her smile fades quick with pressure to her windpipe. Not enough to a presence to cut all flow of air, but enough to make her understand that he could, and would if she does not submit. Pyrrha would tell him words of fancy at this moment, unfortunately, when she struck her temple upon Akuou when landing, it discombobulated her fine focus. Her chest rises and falls, air coming in through an open mouth through hard inhalations. When she deemed herself proper to respond, both her arms came up in a swiping motion towards his neck. The chop has a slim chance of succeeding from her angle, yet she tries because the result would render him immobile for a few seconds.

Jaune was somewhat missing the forest for the trees as he tried to keep her pinned down. He was a bit worried that he had seriously hurt her, but it seems as though she did just need a moment to recover from his attack. Feeling her hands go up. While he couldn’t react perfectly to this to avoid it all together, what he did was manage to duck his head a bit, so her attack hit him in the cheeks, rather than in his neck. It hurt as he couldn’t help but move his mouth as his jaw did get rather jacked.
