like. if you're beholden to a set of conditions that must either be followed or subverted in order to produce a favourable outcome or avoid unfavourable consequences (or led to believe you are), subject to the decree of a higher authority whose statements you are expected to accept as the absolute, unbiased, factual truth, and structure your existence in accordance with, is that not just prison? you can't convince me that isn't just an elaborate psychologically abusive prison.

it's not enough to simply defy the prophecy we need to abolish fate

Do you wanna play mermaids? Yay. Okay so my tail is light blue and I have ice powers. And I live in the Arctic sea and watch British sailors die horrible deaths while trying to find the Northwest Passage.

Okay, so, I have a skeleton tail and I raise the bones of those drowned sailors and send them forth on ghost ships to torment my enemies. Also I'm friends with a pod of orcas and they let me ride on their backs.

I have a shimmering pink tail (of course) and my powers mean I can make anything sparkle and shine! I'm besties with the mermaid above me, and I love helping sea otters by finding them ocean treats.

I have an irreidecent purple & black tail with markings & spines like a lionfish, my powers are to know things, in a Holistic, interconnected Douglas Adams way, and I spend my time studying life, the sea, and everything, then expressing that knowing through my art. I have glittery plum colored hair and eyes like balitc amber. My house is a shipwreck in front of a little cave grotto. My besties are defs otters, because I love to play with them, but no one is a stranger to me.

But seriously, how are the communities impacted by the hurricane and flooding gonna vote? They have a couple weeks to regroup and make some swift decisions, but that’s a lot to deal with in multiple counties on top of making sure people have food, water, shelter. USPS can’t even operate in some areas. What if they lost their ID’s and legal documents? What if their polling locations are gone? What if they’re now permanently displaced in a different county or state? So many questions!
