👩‍❤️‍👨 for a worst first date story

I mean, I haven’t dated anyone but Rose so I don’t really have a story like that. I guess some of our “dates” do suck when we’re both feeling like crap, but at least we’re together so that’s all that counts.

"You do know this is going to be a disaster, right? I hope you’re not very attached to your toes,” August smiled apologetically. He wasn’t able to say no whenever someone asked him to dance, especially when it was one of his friends, but he preferred to be honest about how bad he actually was at all of that.

"You know I have two left feet and yet you’re willing to risk it by dancing with me? Now, now, Rosie, who would’ve thought that you’re so daring,” August teased as he pulled his girlfriend closer. No matter how he tried to be careful, it was more possible than not that something was going to go wrong. But at least Rose seemed to be aware of it and knew what she signing up for.

“Oh stop being so precious. I imagine that mouths had a lot worse things put it. At least this was edible.” She scoffed, reaching to pick up one of the treats for herself and popping it in her mouth with a hum. 

"Excuse you, I don’t put random things in my mouth,” he stuck his tongue out at Lulu. He even didn’t bite his nails unless he knew his hands were clean. “Are you going to try every single one of these?”

“Usually with your mouth. I wouldn’t advise attempting to eat them with any of your other orifices.” Lulu answered as she swallowed back her drink. “Here. Let me help you.” She continued, setting down her glass and picking up one of the dainty pastries and shoving it straight into Gus’ open mouth.

August truly should not be surprised, after all he was talking to Lulu and after all those years of friendship he should’ve been prepared for anything. And yet his eyes still widened and he choked slightly when a pastry was shoved into his mouth. At least he remembered to start chewing, but he also rolled his eyes at his friend. “Did you at least wash your hands beforehand?” He asked once he was finally done.

Olivia sensed the shadow over her textbooks before catching sight of the hand on the back of the vacant chair opposite her, she held up one of her fingers before they even opened their mouth, eyes still focused on the words in front of her. “One, no you can’t sit there because I need the space for studying. Two, this isn’t the only free available chair left because I know for a fact there is several at the front of the cafe with other people who are probably way more sociable than me.” She spoke, eyes finally meeting the others. “And three if you really want the space that badly the price is a large tea and a blueberry muffin.” She finished.

"Now I’m actually scared to make even the slightest move,” August muttered quietly. He only wanted to ask if he can borrow the chair for a moment, but the other was clearly attached to it so maybe it just wasn’t worth possibly loosing a hand...

“Hey, I made cookies. Would you like one?” Pippa asked, “It’s my first attempt at baking so I’m looking for some guinea pigs who are willing to be brutally honest about how they taste. You in?”

"Don’t think I’m able to be brutally honest, but I can never say no to cookies,” August replied, reaching for one and immediately stuffing it into his mouth. He chewed slowly, trying to come up with a constructive commentary, but he couldn’t really think of anything elaborate. “I think they’re pretty good, especially for the first try,” he finally said.

“Well I suppose that’s one way to get a letter from a parent.” Lulu found herself joking about before giving a shrug of her shoulders. “Besides at this time of the year, if you are letting your child out, you have to kind of expect that some costumes might scare them. This is the fun of halloween.”

August had to snort at the joke. “You’ve got a point there,” he agreed, smiling softly at Lulu. “Well, I shall ask my mother not to tell you off then. After she’s done making sure there re no monsters under my bed.”

Alice watched as the couple walked off, yelling at each other and turned to the other, “I d-don’t think I was ex-expecting that, we you?” She asked, “Th-That was pretty strange.”

"I was sort of expecting them to start hexing each other,” August admitted, trying not to chuckle at the spectacle they had just witnessed. “I’m pretty sure the guy would get his ass kicked although he did seem like a sore loser.”

“Huh– shit…” Axel exclaimed in a fearful stammer before holding his hands up as though they’d protect him against whatever – or whoever rather – had come at him all of a sudden. “Holy Helga– don’t do that to me. I could’ve sworn you were trying to give me a heart attack.”

“Me? But I’ve got this cute bucket of sweets,” Gus pouted as he looked down at his winking pumpkin. He didn’t think he looked particularly scary, but he supposed different people were afraid of different things. “You okay though?”

“I probably should feel bad about that but it actually just makes me feel a little smug. It is Halloween after all and that’s kind of the point of the day, right?” And she’d always loved the scariest movies. The run up to Halloween was always filled with plenty of horror film marathons. 

“I guess,” Gus agreed reluctantly. “And you don’t get any angry letters from parents after you scarred their kids for life? You know, asking just in case and to find out what you’re doing with them,” he then teased.
