Created a beatiful Aqua Green on a dark Burgendy patina base yesterday over a bronze MusiKraft shell. The few blue highlights really came out great over the brownish-red wine base color. Scratching the edges adds an aged look to the piece. All this finished with museum microcrystaline wax to preserve the artwork. I've completed the modular horn rack. It allows me to switch the mid and tweet in a vertical polar fashion. I can also mechanically fine-tune the time alignment of each way. I'm used to having tweeters at ear level +/- 40". My first listening tests will tell me if I'm comfortable at hearing the the soundstage 14" higher. This is the first out of three Tung oil coat on the tractrix horns. To reach a semi-transparent and a soft touch finish, I sand the oil in with #380 grit paper. Careful sanding balances the violet tone (fading away its opacity) versus the wood stratas. I let it sit for 10 minutes then I wipe the excess. The additional coats are applied with a lint free cotton cloth to obtain a satin lustre and to protect the wood surface. I wait 24 hours for the second coat and 48 additional for the last one. 🔊🙂🔊 🎶 P.S.
