I know this isn’t it, there’s probably a ton of things I like that I’ve neglected to mention, but have you ever tried to list every thing you like?? It’s surprisingly hard!!

I’m always open to suggestions and recommendations! (even if it takes me years to actually take the suggestion… oops)

I know this isn’t exactly my usual type of post, and no one’s going to find it half as funny as my dnd group😂 but I put too much work into this to not share

I’ve been drawing NPCs for my DM so I haven’t had much to post as of late!

1) It is a Cosmic Horror

This genre of horror relies on the fear of the unknown rather than gore or other elements of shock

The reason there’s so much fake blood is because it takes place in a literal ocean of blood!

I am a pretty squeamish person, I couldn’t get past the first episode of Stranger Things Season 4 because of the body horror, but I had no issues with Iron Lung!

2) It’s a slow burn

Don’t expect a ton of action right from the jump, just let yourself get immersed in the environment of the sub!

3) The story and lore are left intentionally vague

You might be confused and that’s okay!! Think of it like Who Killed Markiplier in that the backstory is slowly revealed and resolutions are left pretty vague and up for interpretation

If you want more context, maybe go through and play Iron Lung or watch Marks play through (I had actually not even seen Marks original video so it’s definitely not necessary, but it would probably help if you want a basis going in)

4) Separate Mark from his character

In my opinion, Mark’s acting is phenomenal and I actually separated him from his character very quickly!

That being said, going into it with the mentality that it’s a character is always good for immersion

5) Enjoy the ride!!

There was an insane amount of love that went into this film and it really shows

I LOVED Iron Lung and I was genuinely shocked by the quality of the shots, editing and acting and just how much thought went into everything

It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s okay! But it really was amazing to see Mark on the big screen and as a debut feature film I couldn’t be happier for both him and Amy❤️
