Nodding his head, Ricky completely understood “Nothing’s stopped you to be that person before. Nothing’s stopping you now. Fearless, it’s a quality people nowadays severely lack” he spoke

"Yeah," she replied softly, "truth is, I forget who I am sometimes. I forget what I'm really all about. The sad part is that I don't know whether I like it or not." Athena glanced to the side and chuckled, "I don't think a mediocre sob story is what you want to listen to on a first date."

"And who do you want to be, Athena?" Ricky questioned, genuinely interested. The whole concept seemed to have quite the meaning behind it and he was eager to find out

"Great." she began, "someone people want to be, someone people couldn't dare to be. I want to be me, and I want to shine as me." She recalled about how she repeatedly felt second best to Gabby, though she knew exactly how their friendship worked — they were equal. But there was something in the water that tried to make Athena feel otherwise.

"I did have one. It was to kiss the pretty yet acid blonde that caught my eye on my first day back" Ricky smirked "I think I’ve done well with that. What about you?"

"No way," She scoffed, "and all the times you've told me to shut up." she chuckled. "Be a better version of me than the year before. As in, who I want myself to be."

Ricky chuckled at how excited she’d become before placing his order as well and ordering some red wine as well, Leading them back to the table, he held out the chair for her to sit down

"Thank you," she said cheerfully as she sat down. She waited for him to sit too before she spoke, "Do you have a new year's resolution?" she asked to get a conversation going.

"Order whatever you want. Even multiple dishes." Ricky encouraged. He wanted her to feel as good as possible "I’ll settle for sushi. It’s a personal favourite" the boy spoke

"Sushi!" She exclaimed, "Oh my goodness heaven on Earth — eel avocado is heavenly." Her stomach growled as she though about it, "she went up to the counter to order, for she couldn't take another minute just thinking about it, "An order of eel avocado and a small stir fried rice," she ordered as she flashed a grin at the register boy.

"Well then, let’s go feed the beautiful lady" he said reaching his hand out to her and guiding them both towards the restaurant and through the front door

Athena was sure that her cheeks were permanently blushing as long as he was around. She place her hand upon his, and they entered the wondrous place that would keep Athena from bitching, "I can't tell you how long it's been since I've had stir fried rice or anything like that."

Ricky laughed as he pulled the car over and parked it just in front of the chinese restaurant he drove them to “Well, luckily none of us will ever have to eat that. Shall we?”

Athena nodded her head as she reached for the door handle to let herself out of his car. She could smell the wonderful scent of chinese filling the air. Her stomach grumbled, "Damn, being this hungry is a love hate thing."

Ricky chuckled as she asked him the question “I don’t really have any.” he confessed, sort of “I just really like food. It doesn’t matter what it is. Unless it’s one of the gross stuff like rat genitals and shit”

"Well, obviously.. hopefully not. Surely with money, you'll find something better to eat," she laughed, "God, I can't even imagine someone eating escargot."

Ricky laughed a little at the girl’s facial expresions “Worry not, sweetheart. I know what I’m doing” he spoke. Actually, he’d gotten into three car crashed just the week before but Athena didn’t have to know that “Chinese?”

"Chinese sounds fine. I actually haven't had it in months." She glanced at him and then out the window. "What's your favorite food?" she questioned.

"Do you care if I join you? I have no desire to watch my parents drink too much, it’s embarassing."
