YOu know it's always really funny when these tech giants (Or whatever you call owning tumblr dot com) get really antsy about laws considering they pick and choose which ones they abide by.

Five days ago, Hex threw themselves from bed, candle in hand, with an idea. Four days ago, I received an invite to a chatroom to test if their theory worked. Three days ago, we opened their testbed to select users.

You probably know what happened then, because we opened it to the public to see if she'd survive and suss out any bugs. She did.

So what happened? So for the longest time we just kinda assumed that Parp was unfixable. Every time Hex took a crack at it, three things broke for every one thing fixed. This was a major reason why we've been slumming it with dreambubble; we considered parp as it stands to be a dead end.

BUT, while tinkering, Hex had an epiphany. They just started ripping shit out instead; no more repairing the old features, just tear the whole of her guts out and put in shiny new ones. Fuck it.

removed rabbitmq, celery, and various other dependencies from msparp to make it leaner, easier to build, and easier to run

clamped how much the text entry box and preview box can vertically expand

added sync of scroll for the textbox to the preview box. if you scroll through a large set of text in your text entry box, then the preview box will scroll to the exact same position. you can scroll the preview independently without it in turn scrolling the text input

Nested search, allowing for users to select Fandom and then Character instead of having to scroll through that big massive hell-list from before

Added Postcanon characters and an HS: Beyond Canon subsection under Homestuck.

Updated the Beforus Beta Trolls ('Pre-Scratch Aradia Megido' is now The 'Rankmaid' for example, and they're all quirked appropriately)

So hey as you can see Hex is a fucking miracle worker. She's running like a dream right now, blinking out only when Hex pushes an update (which is way less frequent now).

KNOWN BUGS:

Desktop notifications are a little fucky right now

Dark Classic Theme is broken

Logging in with the incorrect password will tell you that your account doesn't exist

Sending a message on mobile de-focuses the text entry bar, making you tap it again.

Switching tabs causes timeouts after a while

And some more! We'll find and fix as we go along.

Holy fuck she's back. One more time: HOLY FUCK SHE'S BACK, and barring any horrific complications or catastrophes, she's gonna STAY that way.
