Thanks for the advice ‘non ! It’s how I’m leaning to be honest, I’ve just always been a group person so it’s a little intimidating to me. That said, y’all can check out LITTLEPUNCHY if you’re interested. Still very much a work in progress but it’s something.

“I think someone might’ve started a bit early,” Allison said with a frown, watching as a drunken man stumbled through the crowd, completely oblivious to the people he was bumping into. “Are you alright?” she asked, turning to the other woman. “He didn’t step on your toes, did he?”

“Don’t smile. You have the smile of a serial killer.”

“I’m aching in places I forgot I had,” Allison said with a soft chuckle, wiping the sweat from her brow. “That was a good work-out -- thanks.”

“I’m not as reckless as I used to be,” he said with a shrug. “One time I led the cops on a high-speed chase on my motorcycle, eventually ending up in a dead end alley. Somehow I got out of that without being arrested, fined, or otherwise facing consequences.”

“Yeah, I know,” he said with a shrug. “And I knew what to look for. If I couldn’t take care of it, I’d have come back.” He had survived a lot worse -- nearly losing his eye, for one, or the knives that had gone straight through the palm of his twice. Or, y’know, most of his childhood. “You too. Keeping yourself busy around here?”

He nodded; “I think that relies on them sending us back. Many I’ve spoken to around here aren’t very optimistic about that. I’m not sure I’d stay but... I’m not sure I’d want to go home either. It wasn’t a happy place.”

“Have you tried the ones at Joe’s? It’s a dive but the food is ridiculously good. Also probably ridiculously unhealthy but isn’t deep-fried anything?”

It was the doctor; Troy recognized her face from when he’d first showed up on the island. Hadn’t seen her since -- his head was healing fine and he tried to avoid doctors if he could -- but he didn’t mind it when she spotted him. “It was doing fine,” he said with a shrug. “I’ve got some medical knowledge of my own, doc -- field stuff but I know how to clean and bandage a wound once I’m not disorientated. Fine now. Scar’s there but that was kind of a given.”

Troy shrugged. “Don’t be. It was a dog-eat-dog world, so to speak.” Or man-eat-man, but that joke was probably only funny to Troy. “Head injuries are nasty things. I mean, you can survive a lot, but there’s only so much a skull can stand up to. A hammer and a pissed off woman were evidently too much.” He’d have rather gone out in a blaze of glory -- had been ready to, multiple times -- but oh well. Seems it didn’t matter since he was standing here. “Nah. I mean, I liked my old world but that’s a minority opinion. And there’s no guarantee that if you went back, you wouldn’t be dead. Same with me. In any case, don’t think that’s something you’ve got to worry about. I’ve been here months and others have been here longer. Getting out isn’t really something that happens.”

“I think that might be an understatement.” He nodded; “I’m sure it’s not all perfect but it is worlds better than it was three-thousand years ago. I’m not sure I can go back to that knowing all this.”

Troy looked her over a second time, brow still furrowed. She looked exactly like Alicia but he supposed that didn’t mean anything. Doppelgangers ran amok around here, and this one was Alicia’s. Funny. “Guess so,” he replied. “No, sweetheart, because I’m not the one telling a stranger about their dreams. You’re new around here, aren’t you?”

Brett gritted his teeth, willing them to fade back into their normal blue. “I’m a werewolf,” he deadpanned, because even if it was the truth he knew it would sound like a joke.

“Well, you’re a bartender -- be a bit counter-intuitive if you did,” he said with a chuckle. “Though I guess you might if I ordered some shitty American beer. I’d judge myself on that, at least.” His brow furrowed, head tilting to the side at her question. “...Ewok? Isn’t that what you make a stir-fry in?” He was pretty sure that didn’t have an ‘e’ in front of it though.

“The doctor?” Allison asked, brow furrowing with confusion. “Are you alright? Are you injured?”
