‘ i love a place that doesn’t smell like OLD fish and sea water. don’t get me wrong, i love a good DIRTY PIRATE on the weekend but the lantern i was staying in just wasn’t good enough, even if it meant the demise of someone VERY annoying. ’ she explained as she looked to her emerald nails that matched her nails which glanced up to the person beside her. ‘ i’m usually very small, you see. but just AS CUTE. ’

“Pirate, you say?” Harriet said, her head perked up in interest at the other’s words. Something about this girl seemed vaguely familiar in a way, but she couldn’t place it. “I know a few pirates. Care to drop a name?”

Glancing up from the paperwork his boss had basically forced on him, Jason took stock of the newcomer. “What can I help you with?” He asked, throwing out the cursory greeting as he shuffled around the papers. “Oh, and just to let you know, we also got a new shipment of flux capacitors and rocket boosters if you’re really interested in revving up your ride.”

Tim wasn’t paying attention much. He had only been here a week and was already bored. He was working with the police here as a detective, but he was working on such small cases that Tim felt they weren’t truly worth his time. He was following up on once when he heard the familiar voice. His head immediately snapped up as he smiled. “Jason! Man is it good to see a familiar face.”

the first thing heather had noticed was the taste of drano in her mouth. she could cover up the smell with enough gum, but the taste really never quite leave, no matter how many cigarettes she tried to smoke to cover it up. the second was her skin. it had been a touch too pale since she’d shown up here, like even though heather could have sworn she felt her heart beating the blood wasn’t running quite right. at least it was less noticeable than the drano she figured. “so,” she started, stomping out the cigarette that once again did nothing to alleviate the cleaning product lingering on her tongue. “is this it then? hell? definitely not what i expected. at the very least i was hoping for a little more red.”

“Don’t think it’s hell,” Harriet said, leaning against a nearby wall and having a look around. She had only been here a few days, and she liked it infinitely more than where she had been. She missed her siblings, sure. But here things were clean and the food wasn’t rotting. She could give up her turf for that. At least for now. “Too clean to be hell.”

Liv was working an early shift as a server when two boys got into a fight, usually she didn’t get involved but one threw another into a table snapping it in half.  Liv frustrated got between them and one pushed too close, she shoved him back unknowingly using her telekinesis.  The boy went flying across the room and Liv’s eyes widened.  “What the fuck was that.”

Harriet raised her eyebrows at the woman, cocking her head to the side. Magic wasn’t unheard of where she was from. She didn’t have it--but she knew people who did. She let forward an amused smirk at her surprise. “Looks like someone’s got a big of magic.”

“Max!”  Eric called out as he chased a large sheep dog across a park, his leash dragging on the ground behind the him.  When the dog stopped to sniff at someone’s shoes, Eric finally caught up and grabbed ahold of the leash.  “I’m so sorry, he’s got a bit of a free spirit.”  The male apologized, reaching down to pet his dog on the head.

Tim was heading back to his place after his longest shift since arriving here, and was feeling a little down. That all ended when a dog appeared at his feet. Immediately, a grin graced his features as he knelt down to pet him. “Oh, it’s no problem,” Tim said, looking up as he registered the owner’s voice. “I love dogs.”

Harriet Hook has been here for a few days and is kind of living for the fact that she’s not on the isle anymore. 

She’s aged up from the canon. But she’s relatively the same Hook’s daughter. She’s snappy, no-nonsense. She’s small and ready to FIGHT. Bisexual but prefers women lowkey. Highkey

She’s still looking for a job but because she spent her whole life on the isle, she’s not particularly aware of what she’s good at or what she likes to do.

emma had managed to find one of her friends in this messed up place and that was a start but she wasn’t done. if her and noah were there then she figured that perhaps the others were too, they just needed to find them. she was having a hard time of it, her body language, the tiredness etched into her features was a clear sign of that. however it lightened slightly when she saw the familiar face, relief setting in when she thought she had find her best friend. “audrey? oh my god. i have been looking for you everywhere!” reaching out to touch grip her friends shoulder in a comforting act but also to make sure she was real. make sure this wasn’t her mind up to its usual tricks. “are you okay?”

Bianca stiffened against the familiar touch from a stranger...until she heard the name. Oh. Bianca offered the young woman a sad smile. She wasn’t the first to confuse the young demigod with their friend--and she imagined she wouldn’t be the last. “I--I’m sorry. I’m not Audrey. I know this is majorly confusing,” she said, shaking her head. “And like, thinking you found your friend when you just found me instead must be...really disappointing. You’re friends with Noah, right? He confused us too.”

“God, this place is a real bore.” indi puffed out her cheeks; letting out a sigh as she crossed her arms, “wouldn’t you agree, chico?” she questioned looking at the other, “hm, maybe we can make our own fun, any ideas?” 

“Depends on what your particular brand of fun is,” Anthony mused, looking over to the woman. “It’s boring as all hell here though, for sure. Everyone here’s either single and boring, or in a couple and even more boring.”

‘ i don’t doubt it ! ’ she giggled.

“I’ll teach you how to get really good too. And then you’ll be kicking everyone else’s asses. Who doesn’t love a good underdog?”

Margaery felt a soft smile cross her lips once again, hand raising to run through her long hair, brushing it over to one shoulder. Eyes flickered to look around at the people, and she just couldn’t believe just how packed it was there, full of people dancing, drinking, chilling, and gods knows what else, but she was happy to be there, and everyone so far was so very nice to her. She turned back to the male once more, a soft blush crossing her cheeks briefly. “Oh you flatter me…” she laughed softly. “Oh please nor am I really, but it’s a lot of fun when you get used to it.” she grinned softly and held out a hand for him to take. “I promise it’ll be fun!” the smile returned to her lips once again.

The music was almost so loud that he couldn’t hear what the woman was saying. But anyone who spoke to Jehan got their undivided attention, so they leaned forward slightly to try and hang on the woman’s words so she would know that they were trying to pay attention. 

“I am no flatterer, madame, I only speak the truth,”Jehan smiled as they took her hand. “Then you shall forgive my two left feet as we attempt to navigate this dancing together. I have the utmost faith that we’ll make a good time of it.”

Jehan didn’t even know what had compelled them to go into the club that day. It wasn’t their scene. The music was too loud, and far different from anything they were used to. But they had to admit, the scene was good for people watching. They stood off to the side, nursing a drink that burned as it went down as they watched others dance, never once expecting to be approached.

So when they were, they couldn’t stop the startled expression that crossed their face, nor the light blush that rose to their cheeks. But they offered a smile and a polite nod. “I’d be a fool to deny someone so beautiful. Though I admit I am not accustomed to the dancing they do here. So I warn that I may be quite poor a partner.”

“Well you can’t help who you fall in love with… kind of an expert on that” logically she knew falling for a beast was deemed… odd, but he had been more human then anyone she had met before. “Why is that a problem though?” 

“You’re right there,” Jehan said with a little smile. “It isn’t much of a problem, per se. More that I have had not had much luck with love for someone who is so often in it,” they chuckled. “Not that I am in any sort of rush. I know it will come the moment I stop looking.”
