Paring: Warren Worthington III x Gn!reader
Summary: You are terrified of heights, but Warren needs to take you both with the others by flying.
You always tried to avoid situations where you and Warren were left alone in a fight, not because you didn't want to be with him, you did enjoy his company, but because of how you would have to search for the others.
âI can fly both of us to where the others are, you know? We would arrive soonerâ Warren said for the millionth time. You didn't answer, you just continued to walk as he guided you while he flew.
You were too embarrassed to explain to him how terrified you were of heights, the thought of it made you sick. You didn't mind the jet, you didn't feel the wind, you didn't see the height you were in, and you didn't feel like you were falling.
And even though you trusted Warren, you weren't brave enough to endure that or to tell him the truth. So you kept ignoring his protest as you followed him.
Your plan was going great until you arrived at a cliff. You looked around for another path, any alternative at all, but there wasn't one, the only way across was to fly.
âNow you are being unreasonable" Warren said a bit offended âI thought you trusted meâ. You didn't want to say it, you really didnât, but you didn't have a choice âI do trust you Warren, I just⌠I'm scared of heightsâ.
You said it as fast as you could, as if saying it faster would make it sound less silly. He looked at you, he didn't laugh or tell you that it was silly. He nodded, as if that made sense. Which did, why else would you keep insisting on walking. You two would have been with the others long ago if it hadn't been for how insistent you were.
âWell⌠is there a way I can make this less scary for you?â He understood, but he didnât know how to make it less scary, in the end, for him, it was the thing he loved most. âJust hold me tight, don't judge if I cry, and don't make me lookâ you said. That would probably help, but you knew it wasn't going to make it less unpleasant.
He nodded, making sure he held you tightly and securely, you held him as if your life depended on it, which technically, it did. He made sure to be as gentle as he could, making sure you were completely secure, flying as carefully and as slowly as he could, to try and make the flight easier for you.
As much as he tried to make sure you were safe and as comfortable as possible, you were shaking, you were terrified, and you couldn't stop your tears as you clung to him. You were sure that you were hurting him by the way you were digging your fingers into him, but you couldnât help it.
You felt the wind, you could hear it. You tried to concentrate on Warren's heartbeat, something that always soothed you, but in that moment it didn't feel enough to calm you down.
When you finally arrived with the others, Scott was going to say something, but before he could even say something, you collapsed on the floor, shaking and crying, trying not to throw up.
Warren was fast to let himself fall next to you, embracing you tightly. The others also came to your aid, helping you control your breathing and help you calm down. Slowly you were able to relax, you felt exhausted.
You turned to Warren, giving the best smile you could offer in the state you were in. âWell, that could have been worseâ the others looked at you in disbelief as you started laughing, but they soon followed you.
After the mission, as you went back to the X-men manor, Warren found you, promising you that he would try and help you with your fear of heights and that he wanted you to enjoy the sky as much as him. You were a bit skeptical, but you agreed nonetheless, you hated heights, but you loved seeing him fly. He seemed so happy doing it that having an excuse to be with him and look at him fly didn't sound so bad.
A/n: I'm now reading Marvel Comics, because it seems I can't stick to one thing for too long. I'm loving the X-Men and Warren is my favorite.
He deserves more fanfics, so I tried to write something, he deserves more love.
