â how else are we supposed to have a slumber party if weâre not rooming together? câmon, astrid, think about the big picture here. â
âInvite each other over...?â she explained deadpanned before sighing at her sister. âYou two are seriously not used to hearing the word ânoâ.â

â still canât believe they tried to separate me from nat. i was this close to just straight up destroying kyu. what did they expect? â
â Ohmygods, grow up, â she groaned. â You guys couldnât handle one full-expense-paid-for-vacation where youâre not rooming together? Like, you know you can just hang out outside of the rooms instead of complaining, right? At your big age? â
â âsup, party people? are you ready to RUMBLE? â the space jam theme played all around the maze and void. kat twirled from where she was floating above everyone, circling nat as they both went for the airhorn sound effect.  â unfortunately, thereâs no battle to the death this time, but letâs see a little blood at least, alright? letâs get it! â
âDude, what the hell!â she shouted out to where she knew Kat could hear as soon as she was plopped into the holding center for everyone who had already lost, or had been lucky enough not to get sucked into the whole mess. âI got my ass handed to me, assholes!â
surprising no one, Astrid is not the best fighter at Nemean Lion, in fact, some might guess (correctly) that sheâs the worst
Ilsung, however, is a good fighter, having previous training in the military
when both opponents see each other in the maze, one is far more prepared than the other
Astrid, who truly did not want to be there from the beginning, has no intention of fighting, especially with no weapon in sight to help her, and no magic skills to rely on
Ilsung, being lowkey competitive, wants the chance to win, but wants it fair and square, and tells Astrid she needs to fight
Astrid refuses, not wanting to play her sistersâ game and knowing sheâd surely lose anyway, but Ilsung eggs her on to attack him, shouting that her body is a weapon, too
eventually fired up enough, and frustrated with the whole thing, Astrid lunges, landing a good (?) punch to Ilsungâs face
as she recoils from the pain in her hand, Ilsung decides itâs finally time to begin, and starts up a hand-to-hand combat fight
Astrid tries to remember literally anything sheâs seen her sisters or friends do, but is no match at all for Ilsungâs knowledge of fighting
Astrid gave it her all, sadly, but is bested by Ilsung in less than a couple minutes, sending herself to the audience void, and sending Ilsung to the next round of the tournies!!

âYeah, sure! Also, you donât give yourself enough credit.â Anything that looked organized and pretty screamed effort for Evian. He could only imagine how much of it Astrid had put into her journal. âAh! Then you need one of those sweeter cocktails. The ones people drink when they donât like the taste of alcohol but they still want some bubbly fun. Usually itâs the fruit ones. Have you tried those? Or do you not drink at all?â
âAnytime, Evian. And thanks, I guess I need to learn when to take a compliment every now and then,â she chuckled. âYeah, the fruity ones!â she agreed, latching on to the keyword that she knew was compatible with her tastes. Astrid tilted her head in thought for a minute. âI mean, itâs not like Iâd never drink, but I donât get drunk too often. Do you?â she asked with a brow raised.
âSomething really fun?â Mina smiled - a real, full, genuine smile, her eyes glittering. She got up and put her book away. âThat would be nice. Like what? I mean, what do you have in mind?â She asked, turning back to Astrid.Â
Taking her index finger to her chin, Astrid âWe could... try making cafe drinks-- oo, I just learned how to do that cool TikTok coffee. Or we could make a slip-n-slide outside in the rain! Or we could make a pillow fort in the TV room,â she finished, her eyebrow waggling. Astrid usually wasnât too ambitious or fun-seeking, but she wanted Mina to have a good day above all else.
âI wonderâŚâ Evian played along, grin still on his face. âIt looks like a lot of effort, but it is really pretty! I donât think I could ever make one as nice as that one!â Even if he did try, his attention span probably wouldnât allow it. He laughs when Astrid finally realizes that the drink was indeed alcohol. âI thought my wink made it clear enough, sorry! But itâs pretty good, no?â
âItâs not that nice, but I could definitely show you how, if you wanted,â she beamed, happy to talk about journaling at any chance, or show off her washi-tape collection. âIâm not that smart, Evian,â she replied, a pout clear in her features, but it showed no anger. âI dunno, itâs kind of bitter. My palette is very... twelve-year-old. I need things sweet,â Astrid chuckled, and it was true. Her family always clowned her for it, but she could never drink black coffee or take shots without a face of disgust.
âReading,â Mina gestured towards the book that she had set aside on the window pane. âItâs, uh, also slow. Good but slow. I think todayâs just one of those days.â She sighed, but there was a smile on her face. âI tried to go to the kitchen earlier to bake something but there were too many - uhh - I mean, I wasnât really feeling it, so I just wandered around for a while, then it began to rain so I came here to find something to read, or do.â The truth was, there had been too many people in the kitchen talking loudly and all crowded together and Mina had immediately felt overwhelmed, but Mina didnât want Astrid to think she had left just because of that, even though that was exactly what happened. âIâve been, uh, mostly bored today though,â she said.Â
âI think you might be right,â Astrid chuckled, gazing at the drops of rain that raced each other to the bottom of the window. It was grey and gloomy out, the kind of rain that made you feel lethargic and bored even when doing something you actually liked. She noted the way Mina faltered in her words, and wondered if perhaps the girl had gotten a bit too anxious for one reason or another. She didnât say anything, though her lips pursed ever so slightly in concern, wanting nothing but easy days for her. âWell,â Astrid started, tilting her head in thought, âwhat if we did something really fun today?â

He didnât know Astrid very well. The closest Johnson to him was Evie, but the Johnsons always seemed like a fun bunch, so he had absolutely no qualms about her taking the free seat. He watched as she journaled, nodding a few times before he let out a small laugh. âNo. Itâs iced tea,â he said, but he accompanies it with a cheeky wink. âWant some? Also, has journaling always looked this complicated?â
âThen what am I thinking of?â she asked, pen pressed against her cheek as she tried to think hard for the answer, gullible as ever. âSure!â she nodded, then chuckled at his question. âI found this youtuber who makes really pretty spreads, so I thought Iâd try bullet journaling! Itâs easy if youâre artistic, but it does take some time,â Astrid answered with a smile, then took the drink that was offered to her, immediately grimacing at the taste. âOh, you lied.â
âOh, this? Itâs iced tea.â He takes another sip from his drink, suppressing a small giggle as he glances up at the person sitting across from him. âI love a good iced tea, especially when itâs from Long Island.â It was also an hour before noon, he was aware, but this wasnât odd for Evian. Heâd get drunk, act like an idiot, have an epiphany, and soon enough, it would feel as if he hadnât been day drinking at all. He did often forget that it wasnât normal behavior for most people though. âAnd what have you been up to this fine day?â
âOh, cool!â Astrid said, then returned to working on her bullet journal, seated at the same table as Evian. She didnât know him that well, but there hadnât been any other seating left that day, and she knew she didnât dislike him. âNot a lot,â she answered, always happy to be friendly anyway. âJust journaling, trying to convince myself to go train, and-- wait. Isnât that a cocktail?â
Mina leaned her head against the window in the library as she flipped to the next page of her book. It was a good book but densely written and she often found her mind wandering. Rain pattered against the roof. Mina let out a sigh, giving up and closing the book for now. She glanced outside and a small smile spread across her face. Astrid was heading towards the building. Mina gave her a friendly wave through the window. Even though the girl was a couple years older than her, she was probably one of the only people Mina would consider a friend. When Mina had first arrived, she had been skittish with everybody and rebuffed anybody who tried to be friendly with her, but Astrid had seemed to make it her personal mission to be nice to Mina, and Mina couldnât help but like her, even if she was a child of Hecate and had real live magical powers that gave Mina a headache if she thought about it too much. Astrid never seemed to use magic that much around Mina, luckily, and so their friendship was normal and nice, unlike most of everything else that happened to Mina in the last year.
As Astrid approached her, Mina gave her a bright smile. âHow was⌠uh, training?â she guessed.
Astrid, like most days, was wandering around, looking to see if anyone needed her amplifying powers even on a rainy day. She called it her âwork hoursâ and acted as if she was on the clock, asking her sisters not to bother her unless it was necessary, but really, no one was paying her. Still, she liked feeling needed. There hadnât been much to do that day, and so when she caught sight of Mina waving at her through the library window, she smiled in return and quickly jogged up to the entrance, humming Dear Evan Hansenâs Waving Through The Window along the way. Upon Minaâs arrival, Astrid had felt like sheâd seen a lot of herself in the younger girl, and had been trying ever since to get Mina to come into her own a bit. Maybe she was projecting, but Astrid would never admit that-- especially to herself. She plopped herself down in a seat across from Mina, shaking her umbrella and giving a small laugh. âWork, actually. And itâs been slow today. What about you? Just hanging?â she asked.
đđđđ đđđđđ đđđ  found out the result of the bid, the daughter of demeter was shocked. truthfully she wasnât sure who was going to bid on her, let alone, if anyone was going to at all. but, when charla called out astridâs nameâthough some may have thought it obvious, julia was rather surprised. however, that didnât mean she was disappointed, and in fact, the girl was excited to spend the day with her friend. having arrived at their destination early , she set everything up, making sure nothing was out of place. it was after that she waited by the swing set sheâd told astrid to meet her at, and it wasnât long before she caught sight of a familiar face in the distance. a smile naturally gracing her lips, she raised her hand up in the air while offering a small wave.  â  hey.  â she greeted, meeting the other halfway. holding her hand for them to take.  â you look so pretty today !!.  â she complimented. â iâve already got everything set up.  â Â
Julia, like most days, looked picturesque. She was never sure how she did it, but while Astrid could barely ever figure out what to wear, the daughter of Demeter always managed to look prim and stylish. Aside from that, the sunshine hitting Juliaâs hair and dewey skin only made her look more angelic than usual. âThanks, you too!â she chirped back a little too quickly. She shouldnât have been so affected by a simply compliment from the other girl, so Astrid did her best to awkwardly laugh it off and brush her hair back, hoping Julia wouldnât notice the slight pink tinting her cheeks. If she did, she could blame it on the walk over there-- most people knew Astrid wasnât terribly athletic, right? âSounds good,â she told her. âYou know, you could have just saved yourself the time and money and taken us to McDonaldâs, and I still would have been happy to hang, but Iâm honestly pretty excited to see what youâve come up with, too,â Astrid confessed, smiling wide at her friend.
She hadnât actually expected to win anything. Like a good sister, sheâd put a dollar in for each of her siblings, and then in a moment of brazenness, sheâd put the rest of her money (about a hundred dollars) on Juliaâs date. It had been an act of support, sheâd told herself, but now that sheâd actually won, she wasnât quite sure what to do. Maybe this was a good thing, maybe sheâd saved Julia from having to go on an awkward date with someone she didnât like. But what if Astrid was only preventing her from getting a date with someone she did like? She was way too in her head about all of it, but for some reason she couldnât get the butterflies out of her stomach as she made her way to the park Julia had asked to meet at. It was a bright and sunny day, and Astrid felt so at home in the California weather. The sundress sheâd broken out for the occasion flowed nicely in the wind, as did her dark hair sheâd let down around her shoulders. This was nice, it would be a nice date for a friend. Friend, she kept trying to remind herself as she approached the swing set Julia mentioned, seeing her shape against the blue sky.

How did Astrid Johnson, Kyugchul Seon, and Alexis Soto actually complete their second Q Deeds Mission?
Hope itâs better than last weekâŚ
@qdeeds @im-heartlex @xunveiledx
after finding out that the Q Deeds are real, the group reconvenes, knowing that they need to actually compete and not be exposed
Astrid insists that they cannot come in last, because her secret is terrible and no one can know; she lies and blurts out that sheâs killed someone
Kyu and Alexis are startled but go with it and agree to not lose, since their secrets are also somewhat dark and of course important to them
Astrid figures out the loophole in the task and tells her teammates to go to her room and steal something of hers, and when they get back, sheâll curse them to win bonus points
Kyu and Alexis head to Astridâs room, recording for Q and looking for something easy to steal
her bullet journal is left open on her desk to a journal entry about the Q Deeds
Kyu being the good guy he is, refuses to read it, however, Alexis doesnât feel guilt, and reads the entry, where in giant letters, Astrid has written that âNO ONE CAN KNOW I ACTUALLY THINK OTIS IS KINDA HOTâ
they steal the journal and return to Astrid, and promptly tell her they know she lied and know her real secret
Astrid freaks out, curses them into being unable to share secrets, and yeets into the sun
Where Do Astrid Johnson, Kyugchul Seon, and Alexis Soto stand on their first Q Deeds Mission?
Letâs find out...
@qdeeds @im-heartlex @xunveiledx
when the three received their task and saw secrets threatened, all of them collectively agreed that it couldnât have actually been Q
that, coupled with the fact that none of them thought they could or should ever pull off a task like that in front of Marina,
they did not complete their assignment
they still think itâs all a hoax
but once the points are out and they realize their secrets are in danger of being exposed, they get back together and know they need to actually compete
