Etoiles gets his wings on the island. Something about latent avian DNA and being around all of the other avians triggered the change

The first thing he does immediately after he gets his wings is try to fly. He fails and it hurts

his wings aren’t built like a raptor or bird of prey. Instead, they look like a songbird or one of those little birds that will fight off a hawk to defend its nest. (They look like the wings of a green kingfisher)

his wings are larger than Quackity’s and Baghera’s to accommodate for his physical mass but smaller than Jadien’s and Phil’s, coming to about calf length. They are also the thinnest wings out of all the avians (Phil’s wings are the thickest)

he isn’t shy about his wings or showing them off but he does tend to keep them tucked behind his back bc he isn’t used to the movement and space that they take up

Etoiles does flare his wings out though when he’s really excited or passionate and has a habit of hitting whoever’s next to him when he does

He gets coaching from Baghera and Phil about how to build up muscle and strength so he will be able to fly

However, bc of the type of wings he has Etoiles is better at short distance and maneuvering than long flights or carrying heavy loads

he frequently laments this fact to Phil (“You carried Tubbo all the way to the boat, but can I carry a bag of books? Can I carry a can of soup? Can I carry a single feather more? No! It is the worst!”)

Etoiles still works to get stronger so he can carry Pomme around like Baghera does
