He wasn’t expecting to see her, it had been a while since they last saw each other after breaking up. The young male swallowed, nervous before his mouth open up again to speak.  ❛It’s okay V. Uh—it’s been a while eh?, how are you?❜ he says inviting her to sit next to him. They might not be together anymore but she still had ways to make him feel nervous around her presence, he didn’t know if that was supposted to be happening after a break up but it was definitely a thing he was experiencing that morning. 

“I’d offer to buy you a drink, but you’re a little underage.” Parker jokes, laughing softy. “Not too much. I’ve been working on some new merch for my website, so hopefully  I can release some stuff soon. That’s about it though.” 

“Just a little bit. November cannot come fast enough.” Venus jokes, running her fingers through her hair gently. “I want that merch as soon as it goes live. It’s been far too long since I’ve bought something from the site.”

Celina shook their head and waved off the question, linking their arm with Vensus’s as they led her away from the Balcony. “It’s nothing that needs my attention now. Or ever. You know, people from your past always have a knack for showing up when you don’t want them to, yanno? My ex is suddenly finding an interest in what I’m doing and I’m like..ew, leave me alone,” they said with a laugh and shook their head before giving Venus’s arm a squeeze. “But enough about gross exes, let’s talk about you and how you are killing it in this outfit, babe, check you out,” they said with a smile and looked her over. “how was your week? sorry i’ve been a little MIA, after the gallery opening i’ve been kind of running around making sure everything gets to  the right person and planning out my next project. but tonight i’m all yours,” they said with a wink before pulling the door open to Hooked and letting her go in first before they followed. once they were seated, celina took in a much needed breath and smiled over at Venus. “How’s Seagrove been treating you? Think you’ll stick around?”

Venus giggled softly as Celina linked their arms together, going along easily as they both headed away from the Balcony. “Oh, I know that very well. Exes are always a fun topic. Sorry that’s happening to you, Cel.” Venus replied, offering them a gentle smile. “You’re way too sweet to me, oh my goodness. I’ll be honest, I was a little wary of this outfit. It’s new and one of my classmates really talked me into it.” Venus glanced down at her outfit for a moment, before her eyes landed on Celina once again. “It’s been a good week! Little stressful, but the hardest part of it is over, I believe. Oh, yes, my gosh, the gallery! i wanna hear all about that. i’m so proud of you.” Venus smiled brightly. Venus headed inside Hooked, taking a seat into one of the booths. She brushed the hair out of her face, returning Celina’s smile. “It’s been treating me very well. Seagrove is so wonderful. I think I’ll be sticking around for the long run. Things have just be really nice.” She sighed happily. “What about you? How’s life been for you?”

Giving Venus a small smile, Parker nods at his friend’s words, pressing a light kiss to her cheek. “Thank you, I appreciate that. Once you’re done with exams we’ll go out, yeah? Have some fun.” 

“I’m mentally already there with you, honestly.” Venus teases, shaking her head lightly. “I’m only a month and a half away. I’m counting down the seconds, I swear.” She cards her fingers through her hair lightly. “Anything else new with you?”

Sara approved of any attempt at sign language, no matter how stilted. “Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine,” Sara replied, “it’s interesting, if not a big confusing.”

“Oh, I’ve never read it, but the title alone is interesting.” Venus replied, signing along with her words. 

Sara attempted to read the girl’s lips but could tell that she was embarrassed and not really sure how to proceed. The signing tended to do that to some people, they just didn’t know how to proceed. She watched as the girl signed, smiling at her attempt. Sara did really love when people tried to sign, no matter how much they struggled. “Oh thanks,” Sara grinned as she scooped her things back into her bag. 

Venus returned the girl’s grin, relived she wasn’t too lost by Venus’ dusty attempt at sign language. “No problem.” Venus signed back to the girl. “What are you reading?” She added, her hands signing along with her words.

cassie had taken on the role of responsible adult for the evening, getting things done such as her taxes & replying to the abundance of work related emails that were much needed. while they were typical tasks that she consider to be the more boring aspect of her career, she couldn’t deny feeling a sense of accomplishment having gotten them done too. currently sat in her office editing the last batch of photos from the latest shoot she’s done, not even realizing herself how late it’s starting to get, though not uncommon when she found herself lost in work. not until her phone went off, brown hues glancing over before picking it up to see a few texts from venus, causing a small smile to curve, then tapping away her replies.

[text]: you’re in luck babygirl i’m wide awake right now just doing some editing [text]: might be a little complicated since you’ve got some you know [text]: what are you in the mood for? movie/game night, we could head over to the balcony, maybe wander through the park and stargaze. i’m good with whatever

placing the device back down on her desk, stretching a bit as she waited for the younger girl to reply, feeling as if she could definitely use a break from the monitor at the moment too.

venus lifted her head immediately once she felt her phone vibrate against her side. she reached for her phone, a smile breaking out over her face once she noticed cassie’s name. venus thanked the lord above for the other girl every single day. she thought for a moment, before typing away a response.

[text]: have i EVER told you you’re the love of my life? [text]: i’ve decided to never look at my body parts ever again [text]: oh my gosh a movie/game night sounds incredible, actually. i’m mentally already at your door (but in reality, give me 20)

venus popped off the bed, moving to change out of her lounging clothes into something a bit more presentable. although she knew cassie wouldn’t care, venus still felt like bright pink pajama pants and an oversize sweatshirt wasn’t the best choice to go outside in. once she was efficiently dressed, she rummaged through her selves, looking for her personal favorite game, scrabble, to take with her over to cassie’s. it’d been a while since she’d had time to sit down and play, so she was hoping it hadn’t gotten lost in the shuffle from the move.

“I dunno. I guess I’m just struggling on what to do next since mama died. I moved back here to help take care of her, and now that she’s gone…” Trailing off, Parker shrugs, returning Venus’ small smile with one of their own. “I bet you’re looking forward to the end of the year, right? I don’t miss college at all, I’m not gonna lie.” 

Venus reached out to squeeze Parker’s arm gently, just wanting to bring them a little bit of comfort. “I know this has to be so difficult. And I want you to know that I’m here for you. If you wanna..talk things out, or whatever you want.” Venus spoke, softly. “Oh, you have no idea. I’m going to cry tears of joy walking out of my last exam. It’s a great thing in theory, but actually doing it? Kind of rough.”

venus and cassie had hit it off immediately. venus was grateful for her friendship. if there was anything she needed, cassie was one of the first people she went to. much like tonight. venus had been staring at her textbooks for the last three hours. she was positive if she looked at another graph she’d loose her mind. she glanced down at her watch. 12:06. goodness. venus thought to herself. she hadn’t even realize how late it’d gotten. she needed a break and she needed it now. she grabbed her cell phone, immediately shooting cassie a text

{text} cass i am really hoping you’re not asleep because i’m in desperate need of a break 

{text} if i see another body part, i swear i’m gonna drop out

{text} let’s do something! literally anything!! 

venus sent the serious of text messages to cassie. praying that she’d receive an answer soon. she let out a soft breath as she waited for the other to respond, flopping herself down on her bed.
