Dylan listened to his cousinâs debate with himself, smirking when he settled on please. He snorted, getting up from the floor. âDude, you are way too nice.â Dylan shook his head and grabbed his wand from where heâd left it on Asraâs desk, tucking it in his back pocket. âNah. The rest of my day is just me catching up on notes and stuff. I didnât schedule any appointments today purposely because my headâs hasnât been in it.â He looked back at him, âWhere to?â
He shrugged, âMost of the time, yes, but in the magical plant research field doing favors for people get you places. It pays to be friendly sometimes, you know.â He tapped on the desk absently, âOh? And whatâs been going on? Why do you feel out if it lately? I mean, besides the Ministry madness, of course.â He sighed, âAnywhere out of this hospital is fine with me. I think the one I usually go to has a special, so letâs head there.â
dr-prkinsvnâ:
âMm. Must be genetic,â he mused with a smirk. âJust put a do not touch label on it when you leave again. Add a please if it makes you feel better.â Dylan took the box from him, putting the rest on the shelf. âYeah, at least itâs your job, so you get a pass. He plays quidditch, so I didnât give him one.â Dylan looked up at him when he was finished and nodded, getting up from the ground. âPlease. Just not the shitty hospital one - weâre actually leaving.â He groaned and ran a hand through his hair. âI feel like I live in this place now.â
âYou must be right, Iâd trust your judgement over mine on that one.â He smiled, âYeah, Iâll hang some rope over it all... or a sticky note. I guess that would be the less dramatic option.â He smiled sheepishly, âYou know I will put please on it because - well - theyâre still people.â
He nodded, âNot much use for plant knowledge there, I suppose. Unless the player plans on cheating, which I am assuming he was not.â He shook his head, âNo, not from the hospital. Letâs take a walk - unless you have patients you need to mind?â
dr-prkinsvnâ:
âEven organized chaos?â Dylan hummed as he finished shelving the bottles he had laid out in front of him. âI canât work in organized. It has to be organized chaos - but thanks for the lecturing dad voice you just used on me.â He rolled his eyes playfully, but smirked. âNah, Iâd be pissed off if someone screwed with my office, too The only difference between us is that Iâd bitch and let it be known instead of silently suffering.â Dylan looked over at his cousin as he answered his question, eyebrow raised. He made a motion across his head like it went in one ear and out the other, before smirking again. âAll that stored plant knowledge,â he snorted. âYouâre worse than my ex.â Dylan paused, vial in hand, thinking that over. âEh. Close second. Iâm pretty sure we had plants suspended and hanging from the ceiling in our room - hand me that box.â
âOrganized chaos is probably what I do best,â Asra laughed, âWhoops. I guess I did, didnât I? Well, it seems like we both have the same organization sytle anyways.â He nodded, âI have no doubt about that. Maybe putting all this stuff back will be passive-aggressive enough to say âhey, please donât reorganize my things.ââÂ
He smiled, âWell, I do have a career in potion making and magical plant research. I would be worried if there was no stored plant knowledge.â He handed Dylan the box he was referring to and happily continued working, âI think we are almost finished here. I could certainly go for a cup of coffee.

âOh wow,â Jasper leaned back against the doorframe with a smirk on his lips. âThatâs the most. pissed off I have ever seen you, Jules,â he teased. âYou need help?â
Asra turned around and blinked at Jasper. He hadnât realized how silly he sounded. âAh... I suppose I might have over reacted.â He set the vial down and nodded, âActually, yes, help would be nice.â
dr-prkinsvnâ:
âMm,â he hummed, looking at the vials, before moving them around again when he saw they still werenât alphabetized right. âWell, they majorly screwed up - and triggered some weird, random OCD I didnât know I had until this moment.â Dylan put a few back on the shelf. âSo where did you go again?â he questioned his cousin and smirked. âI feel like you should just buy a jungle treehouse at this rate.â
âOrganization is important, Dylan.â Asra sighed, and then smiled, âBut youâre right, it is a little silly of me to get so upset over a reorganized cabinet. The intern just though they were doing their job.â He smiled, deciding to sit down to answer Dylanâs question. âIâm surprised myself that I donât have one yet. âI stayed in Columbia this time, not as deep as I had been before. Thereâs a once in a life time flowering event of one of the oldest magical plants that I just had to see.â
dr-prkinsvnâ:
âItâd have also helped if theyâd actually alphabetized it correctly,â he grumbled from where he was sitting on the floor, helping his cousin go through the mess someone had left. Dylan knitted his eyebrows in confusion and settled on carefully clearly the entire bottom shelf. âWho the fuck was in your office while you were gone? A blind pygmy puff?â
âYes, my point exactly.â He sighed, noting several alphabetical errors himself. âIt also takes effort to go back and order it the same way.â He smiled slightly and shook his head, âAn intern, they asked if they could use some of my herbs for their own potioneering practice. I didnât expect a reorganized herb cabinet when I came back.âÂ
rjfontaineâ:
â-Â âAnd what would be the appropriate method, if you donât mind me asking?â
âMy method is order of use. If I have to dig around for something I use constantly, my work would be inefficient.â
unstefanableâ:
âIâm afraid to ask and I promise it wasnât me - not that you would assume that I did it because why would I be anywhere near your herbs - but why isnât alphabetical the right way to go? Doesnât that make the most sense?â
âI wouldnât have thought so.â He sighed, âI think I have an idea of who did it, and they were probably just trying to be helpful.â He folded his arms over his chest, âWell, my method was in order of use, making those readily at the front.â

âI leave for Amazon for a week and my herbs are all shuffled around. Someone apparently thought alphabetizing was the appropriate method, but I assure you it is not.â
what is your biggest pet peeve?
âWhen people in my field donât keep up to date with the literature. There are so many innovating new potions and uses for magical plants, staying unaware is irresponsible.â

âHottest guy since James Dean â ooh la la,â Lottie tilted her head and smirked. She laughed and dropped her head to rest on his shoulder for a moment. âYouâre too adorable, are you aware of this, because itâs almost gross.â
She lifted her head to let him skim through the pages. âLittle. Like fits in the palms of both my hands little.â Lottie fished her phone out of her purse and found the picture, turning it around to show him. âIsnât he cute? I wish heâd stay little forever. I would take him home with me.â She paused and put her phone away. âNot that I would take animals home with me becauseâŚthat would not be good.â Lottie smiled at him. âAlright. Antidote thingy.â
He shook his head and laughed, âGross is something I have never been called before, but I suppose I must take your word for it.â He breathed a sigh of relief, âOh good. They can get rather large, yes? Well, in that case the batch I have to make will be quick.â He waved his wand, causing his cauldron to light. He gathered the ingredients and began making the potion.
He peeked over the cauldron at the photo and shivered, âYes, cute now for sure, but I can imagine what a fierce thing he will be soon. That must be terrifying.â He nodded, âRight, your new flatmate might not like that, I am guessing?â He smiled, âThough I would have to agree with her - I do not think baby dragons make good housepets.â

âWell, you know all those journals better than me, Iâm sure youâll find someone willing to publish it. And if you do, make sure to send me a copy,â Jasper took a sip of his coffee and grinned at his ex. âNormal people donât read scientific journals so honestly, Prophet is your chance to get through to a bigger audience. Just flash that gorgeous smile of yours at anyone and youâll charm even Skeeterâs pants off, Jules. Well, especially Skeeterâs.â
Asra waved his wand and out from the stacks of journals in his bookcase came a journal, âI did find a journal to publish it, and itâs there. You can have that copy.â He shrugged, âPeople stop reading the literature in my field, I think. Most of the people who make these potions are not academics, so they go with the old recipe published in their old references.â He nodded, âYes, exactly. Maybe I should work on a recipe book. Might be better received.â He gave a laugh, âNot interested in Skeeter, and I do think, Jasper, that you are flirting with me now.â

âYou know whoâs also cute?â She smirked and nudged his shoulder. âYou.â Lottie couldnât help but laugh at his realization and shook her head, âIâd say thatâs probably not gonna happen, but with you walkinâ around with that face - I wouldnât blame him.â
Lottie perched herself on the edge of his desk. âSheâs got a raised, bumpy rash around her foot where the venom got her.â She shook her head, âI donât think itâs hurtinâ her, but she scratches at it every now and then.â
He laughed, âYeah, sure. I mean thatâs beside the point, though. He could be the hottest guy since James Dean and if heâs still using out dates recipes, Iâm going to correct him.â He adjusted his glasses on his face, âItâs my responsibility, as a healing potion makes and as an academic.â
He furrowed his eyebrows at the description and nodded, skimming the pages below him, âMmm, I think Iâve heard of something like that. Let me see... Oh! Okay I think I can whip something up for the little guy... Wait, is it a big guy or a little guy? That matters for the dosage.â
accioavocadosâ:
âYou know what you should do?â Jasper hummed and took a sip of his tea before leaning back in his chair. âYou should write a passive-aggressive scientific paper in which youâll tell everyone why your recipe is better than the others,â he grinned. âAnd then maybe woo someone at the Prophet to publish it there too.â
Asra smiled, âMaybe I will do that. I donât know what journal would publish it, but if it goes somewhere credible it may work. Though I donât know how many people actually still consult the literature, or else everyone would be using my recipe...â He rolled his eyes, âThat seems a little unethical, but who would you suggest?â
