I'm back on Tumblr
not quite sure what this means
not sure it's a good thing
“It happened in May. I was driving my friend’s Mercedes to school because my car had broken down. And suddenly I got pulled over. I turned on the interior lights. I showed the policemen my ID. I called my friend on the phone and asked him to explain the situation. But they said: ‘Not enough, get out of the car.’ They started calling me a prostitute. I told them I’m an artist. Then they saw my laptop in the backseat, and they tried calling me an Internet scammer. They asked me to open my computer and type in the password. I told them it wasn’t possible. Then they asked for a huge bribe, and I told them it wasn’t possible. That’s when they cocked their guns at me. One of them got in the front seat. He pointed his gun at me and told me to drive to an ATM. I brought him to this exact spot, and he escorted me to the machine. I left the car running. I maxed out one of my cards, and told him that I have go back and get another one. Then I locked the door and started driving away. That’s when he started shooting at me! All of this was captured on surveillance cameras. I sped away. I was taking short cuts and back roads. The whole time I was thinking I’m about to get killed. When I got home, I found four dents in the car from where the bullets hit. Afterwards I contacted the police, and they said they wouldn’t even speak to me unless I deleted the story from social media. I said: ‘I’m not doing that. I’m a law student.’” (Lagos, Nigeria)
How to give the best impression at a job interview
First of all, I know all jobs are different, some may require experience or features that other don’t, so if you feel like I forgot somethin or that I’m wrong somewhere, just add your correction C:
CLOTHES:
Wear formal clothes and be sure they are clean and ironed.
Bring a purse or an overnight bag with your cv, your documents and a pen.
Forget about the “glasses make you look clever” thins and wear a watch instead. It certainly will make you appear more professional. (Still, wear glasses if you feel like it or if you need them!!!).
APPEARANCE:
Take a shower before the interview so you’ll be clean and smell nice.
You can wear a lotion or a parfume if you feel like it, but don’t put too much or it could not be appreciated.
DO WEAR DEODORANT AT ANY COST!
Brush your teath / eat a mint / eat a gum.
Make shure your hair look good and are clean and combed.
Pay attention to your hands and nails!! They need to be clean and your nails should be filed. Do not wear extremely long fake nails or a nailpolish in a colour which is too bright. And it is preferable to have a natural shape (not a stiletto or coffin shape for example). In general a natural/neutral look is the best one.
The same goes for makeup. Go for a natural/nude makeup.
WHAT TO DO:
Be prepared to answer questions such as -Why do you want to work with us? -What would you do if...? -How would you solve a problem such as...? -What did you do the last time you found yourself in a difficult situation?.
Questions referring to your experience, your studies etc.
And questions about the place you are tring to apply to (ex what does it do / when was it founded / who was the founder / recent goals / etc.).
ALWYS stand up and shake hands whith those who will interview you or with anybody you are introduced to.
Bring a printed copy of your cv with you.
NEVER bring a drink (not even water) to the interview. If you have one, take a sip before the interview or after and keep the bottle in your purse.
Keep your phone silenced and never bring it out of your purse/pocket.
NEVER ASK HOW MUCH YOU WILL BE PAYED! I mean, often for small jobs they don’t tell you immediately what will be the pay, but somehow you’ll find it out, sooner or later, so pls don’t ask it at a job interview. As far as long term jobs are concerned, you’ll probably know it already, but still don’t bring up the topic.
Honestly this one makes me feel sick, but the world is a funny and ignorant place so... hide your tattos and piercings, at least until you know you got the job or until you feel like they won’t kick you out just because of them.
Body language is so important: you can find so many informations about the topic and learn what to do and what to avoid based on your personality and the job you are applying for. In general just don’t move your hand a lot and watch the person in front of you in the eyes (not always, not too much or you could look arrogant, simply be natural and confident). Remember also that crossed arms of legs show repulsion, so i suggest a more loosen up position (even if you feel it unconfortable at the beginning, you’ll be better after a while).
Of course don’t be late, arrive 10 to 5 minutes before the appointment and be patient in case they make you wait.
Don’t make plans in the 2 hours following the interview so you won’t have to leave earlier.
Finally: always be kind, never rude and always willing to be the perfect employee, even if the tell you the interview didn’t go well and that you didn’t got the job. Try to smile, I know your smile is beautiful and it will certainly be appreciated!
MOST IMPORTANT:
Remember that whatever the result is, you are woth it and you gained experience to do better the next time. You can still find a job that you like and that will pay you good and you will have more chances in the future for sure! Never let anybody bring you down.
If you feel and unconfortable environment or if the people ask you unconfortable questions, be kind and leave the place. Don’t put yourself in bad situations, you will find other opportunities.
Be yoursel and don’t lie, it will also make you feel more confortable and this is so important!

Facts that adults don’t tell you about bullying
- Communication doesn’t work on bullies. Telling a bully they’re making you feel bad is the wrong way to go. They want to make you feel bad. That’s the point.
- being kind to a bully doesn’t always mean they’ll stop. Sometimes it means they’ll just use your kindness to manipulate you while still continuing to bully you.
- not every bully has a sympathetically tragic home life. Sometimes people are just mean. Sometimes people just get off on hurting others.
- on that note, a tough home life is a reason, not an excuse. You don’t have to put up with bullying because somebody’s life sucks, just like you don’t have to let someone mug you because they’re broke.
- in order to forgive someone, they have to apologize first. If your bully has not apologized to you, you do not owe them anything.
- getting bullied as a kid can still mess you up in adult life. Maybe kids grow out of being bullies, but the marks they left often don’t go away.
- there are ways to get people to stop bullying you, but they almost all involve being mean back.
- as long as parents keep raising shitty bullying kids, there will be bullies. No amount of assemblies and hand-drawn posters will fix the problem. It’s the parents’ fault.
When you’re a grumpy ass, troll-like person by nature but still really want to maintain a soft and feminine aesthetic.
