In a world gone mad...

“No, I want to know how to make him stop smearing himself with whatever paint he can find, picking fights with animals and eating bugs! And he keeps on ranting about this ‘immortal’ character, very loudly.”

Tinker made a thoughtful sound, nodding knowingly, “Ah, I see! He must be a War Boy. They’re a very... rambunctious lot! Very devout in their beliefs.”Judging by her demeanor and dress, she must not have been from around these parts. One of the strongholds that withstood the Fall longer, perhaps? He figured those were all mostly gone. “The best way to tend to a War Boy, I’ve found, is to give them a mission. They thrive on feeling important and loved, be it by their God,” He cleared his throat warily, “Or people they respect. Like... like taming a wild creature.”

Syrup blinked in surprise, and then crouched to half a better look at the little hoofed creature. She’d heard of these before. “Oh! She’s, cute. …Will she let me pet her?”

“She is very good for petting, yes!” He sat himself down beside the creature, giving her back a nice pat before setting the can down below her and set about his work.  If this woman didn’t need his services, he could at least get his work done.  And if it turned out she DID, well, then... they’d sort out payment later. 

“Well, I can certainly try!” He beamed encouragingly at her, “Come, come, have a seat and we can talk.” The Van door was slid open where he gestured to the worn leather seat that served as a couch, climbing inside to offer her a hand. “I assure you, this is a safe space.” That is unless someone were to try to attack his little camp in the middle of a session, but that hadn’t happened in some time, thankfully.  “You’re lucky I have time for walk-ins today! Now. What exactly seems to be plaguing you, Miss... er...?”
