The crackers, at least, are put in his emergency reserve rations.
A garish tie for Tinker and a shiny bell for Miss Pavlov!
“Oh gracious, look at the colors on this one!! The most impressive tie I’ve seen, thank you!!” He added it to his large rack of collected ties from over the years.
Miss Pavlov, meanwhile, tried to eat the lovely little bell until the Tinker took it away from her to tie it to her collar among all her various licences. What a lovely jingle!
Slit gives Nux some dried lizard jerky. He caught them himself, even painstakingly removed all the littlest bones that scratch at Nux's already sore throat. But it's not a Chromemas gift! Slit doesn't believe in giving gifts. [slitthelizardking]
By the time Nux woke, Slit’s bunk lay empty. The man had already gone off to rations, no doubt, or wherever else… but the important thing was the package he’d left him was gone. The wrappers still on the floor below. His hammock swung as he strained to look to see if the burly Lancer had thrown it somewhere, but felt something shift in his lap as he sat up. Three flattened dried lizard carcasses, cleaned and prepared properly - and by the smell of them, even lightly seasoned. Smoke, maybe?
Asshole never let him see how he did it, make ‘em smell so good, and would just eat them in front of him on long-runs.
He immediately tore off the head of one, chewing slowly as he savored the texture and lack of skull-crunch. Well he must have liked the scarf, he grinned to himself.

That babbled, the man beamed at his fellow Healer and pressed the tie back into his hands encouragingly.
