Wide eyed, Henryâs mouth dropped as he looked up the set up. He knew David really liked the books Henry had leant him and was pretty into Harry Potter as well. He didnât expect⌠Wow.
It catered exactly to his interests. When David held out a Ravenclaw shirt for him, he hesitated. Gifts⌠Reminded him of his Mom. Taking the shirt into his hands, he shut his eyes and thought. *âThis is so cool. ButâŚâ*
No. Heâd think about his feings later and his suspicions.
With a shake of his head, Henry exhaled the breath he was holding and waved over to his Mom and grandma with the shirt, âHi Emma, hi Mary Margaret!â He yelled excitedly. Turning to look at David, Henry nodded with determination.â I say, that weâre going to win the quidditch world cup!â
Mary Margaret wasnât quite sure what exactly she was getting herself into, but the minute David had askedâwell, there was no way she could say no. It was obvious that today was for Henry, and she was willing to do pretty much anything for her favorite student. So she and Emma had gotten up and over to the makeshift Quidditch pitch at the time David had told her toâand soon enough, he and Henry were rounding the corner, pure excitement written all over the ten-year-oldâs face.
âHi, Henry!â Mary Margaret waved back at them, a grin spreading across her face. She glanced at Emma as she lowered her hand. âI think we can take them, donât you?â
There was no way in hell Emma would say no to doing something like this. She knew Henry had been struggling knowing that David didnât believe anymore and after what happened to Graham. He needed a spark to bring him back to life again. It broke her heart to see him so distraught and if she couldnât seem to bring him out of his emotional state, Emma was confident the surprise Quidditch match would be just the thing.
As two made their way around the hedge, Emma couldnât help but smile in return as she saw Henryâs express. That was all she needed to know that Henry would be okay. âHey, kid!â She replied before looking over at Mary Margaret. âAre you kidding? They wonât even see us coming.â
David jogged over to join the girls, his hand on Henryâs shoulder. He was excited for this. He knew Henry would enjoy it, and it was a great way for him to spend time with the three people who had come to mean the most to him since heâd woken up. He was primarily focused on Henry, of course, but even so, he was so grateful that Mary Margaret had agreed to this. This was the first time heâd seen her since that disastrous night at the Toll Bridge, and heâd missed her.
He greeted Emma and Mary Margaret, smiling, and reached down to grab two of the brooms. âOkay, hereâs how itâs going to work,â he began, passing a broom to Henry. âI figured the snitch would be a little hard, having it just the four of us, so weâve got the quaffle and the bludgers. Itâs going to be boys against girls. Try to score on the other team with the quaffle, and weâll have the bludgers lying around, so we can grab them and throw them at each other to try to throw the others off their game. Letâs try not to hit each other in the face. Got it?â Â
