So, Black Library just terminated a writer, Thomas Parrott, for posts that were “damaging to the brand.”

Honestly, I don’t see how these messages “damage the brand” given they’re literally all in line with GW’s supposed taking a stance against assholes in the community. Y’know, the “You will not be missed” shit? How does this “damage” that brand? By being a lil rude?

That’s not what was said at all - they said that they’re closest in emotional bond to the Sacred Band, but not that it was analogous. In the limited space of 240 characters, it’s pretty damn clear that the intention was “they have a deep adoration for each other that means the closest possible analogy in human terms is that of romance, but they aren’t sexual beings.”

Specifically, he said he wasn’t trying to gaybait. As in, “he is not saying they are homosexual, simply trying to make a comparison.”

So, it looks like I’m going to have to chop out about a third of Manflayer - which is not unexpected, given its size. Now, normally, I just bin all those scraps because I can’t really do anything else with them - they’re not large enough to make into a short story and this is the last book, so they just take up space on my hard drive.

But, if I were to get permission (big IF) would anyone be interested in reading some - let’s call them promotional vignettes/deleted scenes?
