//ooc all the darn time rn but tbh I’m really disappointed with some stuff in the community rn and want to make things clear. If you’re homophobic, transphobic, or make any offensive jokes without remorse please don’t interact with me. I really am fine with any joke but any joke that benefits of the hurt or struggle of others that you personally don’t face in my opinion isn’t funny. Gallows humor is when you’re personally going through something and make a joke about it– execution humor is when you make fun of others for their struggles and assume that because it doesn’t personally affect you, it’s not important enough for you to stand for. Empathy goes a long way and trying to prove a point of your free will by hurting others isn’t acceptable. Jokes are a coping mechanism yes, but jokes also normalize a behavior. So it’s best to normalize humor that doesn’t hurt anyone. Thanks for listening.
