° Fondest memory from growing up in the Ministry °

My fondest memory would be the holiday season. Which, I know, is fairly ironic given the nature of Ghost and what we stand for. But having everyone together- Sister Imperator, all of the Emeritus sons, Ghouls and Ghoulettes alike, Brothers and Sisters of Sin.... even Nihil, I suppose- is a memory I will deeply cherish for the rest of my days. Our traditions in the Ministry carry on even to our holidays now and still are full of life and lifted spirits, though the parts that are missing will forever be remembered and missed. In a way, it's my fondest memory and my most bittersweet.

On the morning of February the 14th, a single red rose sits on Bishop Dante's desk, along with a small black envelope with his name on. On the back is a red wax seal with a small round symbol incorporating the initials CV.

Will you open it, Bishop?

Bishop steps into his office and gazes down at the items on his desk curiously. He picks up the rose tenderly and brings it to his nose, inhaling the sweet scent for a moment before setting it down and taking the envelope instead. Taking hold of a decorated letter opener from his desk, he tears the envelope open, looking inside at the contents curiously.

Inside the envelope is a letter written in curly but slightly messy italic handwriting on pale grey parchment.

Dearest Dante, Forgive me if this seems a little ostentatious on my part. But whether it's evident or not, I'm rather a believer in romance, especially for a sweet fellow like yourself who seems so worthy of my best attempt at it. I must admit, however, that I'm not as eloquent at wording these things on the page as I believe myself to be verbally. So I shall allude to one our holiest hymns, and tell you simply this: You're the guy I wanna do. But I know that it takes two?

A small, winking face is drawn next to that particular line.

With that in mind, I'm afraid this simply cannot leave this anonymous. But it gives me all the more anticipation for your response. Will you be my valentine? Yours, Cadence xxxx

At the bottom of the page is a watermark associated with the Advocatus Angeli, with a red heart doodled on top of it, but no further instruction.

Bishop reads over the letter, a tender smile forming on his lips. Ever since he was a young child, roaming the halls of the Ministry, he has had a weakness for romance. He was always drawn to tales of love, and always envisioned himself having some sort of romantic connection. With the life he has had, connections of a more carnal sort were common and something he wasn't a stranger to, but true romance was often lacking.

Setting the letter aside, he sits at his desk and writes out a response of his own on similarly colored paper, then places it into a black envelope. He seals it with a wax seal bearing his initials of "B.D." for Bishop Dante, sealing it with a dried dahlia flower, then rises from his chair.

The Bishop makes his way out of his office and through the hallways, on the lookout for the one who had sent him the letter, his own tucked neatly into his robes, out of sight.

Hello there, darling. Yes, I have been rather busy today, I started my morning off with chasing one of Copia's blasted rats down the halls of the Ministry, so that was oh-so-wonderful.

Well, Shay, I do as a matter of fact! I have two, though they're typically covered by my robes most of the time. I have a rose and thorns across my chest, then the Grucifix on my left wrist.

Fox, your question sort of ties into Shay's, as roses are my absolute favorite flower. But I am also partial to dahlias.

My favorite place in the Ministry happens to be the garden. Whenever I have some downtime, I like to spend some time there, reading a book or simply enjoying the peace and quiet, as it never lasts long at the Ministry.
