Reasons.

● He is sarcasm, just like the hipsters.  

● He has somewhat nostalgic feelings. As you could see in the game that he is kinda be retrospective for sometime. So, I think he might love vintage stuffs and musics.  

● At first, Ubisoft tend to make him be the kind of top 40 guys like Ezio, but it has been failing. He is not popular at all, when we compare him to Ezio. And I see that a few hipsters in fandom love him. So, his lifestyle in Modern Day AU may be like a hipster. 

● He is French. The best hipster of the world is French people. :)
