Thank you all so much for submitting! I'm glad you all took it very, very seriously. This was a VERY SERIOUS issue and I'm glad you were all able to approach it with the sensitivity and intelligence necessary for such a task.

It's true; there tends to be a very small overlap in the venn-diagram of "programs that are sentries" and "programs that are alive".

And this is way late but I dunn caaaaaaaaaaarr … just saw this today and it made me think that possibly the reason why sentry wears such a form-fitting helmet is because he needs to … restrain himself?

Also, I do not know why there is a random reco in the distance, but it looked like it was having fun, so I thought it fit the sentry’s current level of exuberance.

My headcanon is that all the Sentries look a little like Clu -- cold blue eyes and ~perfect hair~. Wish I could draw him for you, but this'll have to do! :)

This next one is actually from an Anonymous submitter!

It's typical, but I picture sentry with some shade of brown hair--leaning towards blonde--and some form of facial scarring, be it a long-forgotten wound from a fight cracking through his cheekbone, or even a missing/damaged eye. If this is terrible it's because my headcanon is that when programs are rectified, they are modified to be near-copies of one another. Male, built, clean cut. Clones, essentially. Btw, I love him so much. o H o

I wish you weren't anon because you deserve some recognition for such a good idea! But an anon is fine too ;)

((Actually, I was just thinking about this the other day- unlike some other ask blogs, I've don't really have a set palette. In some cases I can chalk it up to different light sources, but I barely draw backgrounds, let alone lighting.

Here's a little taste of my colors I've used in answers, sans any answers where I used another person's color scheme:

The first box is just general skin tones that I've used. They're all sort of medium skin tone, but if you were to put the darkest against the lightest, I'm sure you'd see a drastic difference.

Under that is skin tones I've used against drawn backgrounds or unusual colors (the surrounding colors appear underneath the skin colors).

It's not just his skin that changes, though- for example, on the right you see various armor and background colors I've used.

Is this a problem, though? Should I try for a more consistent color palette or do you guys like the variety? I know I change styles too, from teeny "chibis" vs more anatomically... "correct" scaling; outlines vs no outlines; shading vs flat coloring; higher details on the armor vs no detail whatsoever- even the size of the images vary greatly.

Uh... no, where did you get that idea?

((I'm curious as to what you all think our little sentry here looks like under his helmet, and I'd like to see!

Over the next week or so, send in a submission with what you think he looks like (you don't have to be able to draw well!!) and I'll collect them all and post them together.
