I was actually considering making some kind of art process at some point, so this ask is finally gonna make me do it hahaha

I can first start by telling you that before spn, I was drawing anime, and then shifting to spn did amazing stuff to my style, making it more realistic but still more cartoon-inclined. So I still had a anime base to begin with, and I can’t tell you for sure how to start from scratch when drawing realistic (read : played by actors) characters. But one good advice I can give you is : if you’re looking for a kinda cartoonish, simple style, browse fanart. There’s plenty of fanarts of destiel and other spn characters out there, we’re lucky to have a huge ass fandom with a looot of creators! Browsing fanarts and having artists friends also inspired me a lot! Without all that stuff I probably wouldn’t be able to draw Dean and Cas as I do now, and I can’t really explain but when I imagine them in my head they actually look a bit different than Jensen and Misha, I took the characters out of the actors and made them mine… if that makes any sense hahah
