KINTPUASH (kint-posh) - Strikes the water brashly, better known as Captain Jack. In 1864, the Modoc originated near Tule Lake, presently occupied by the California-Oregon border. Colonial forced relocation programs pushed the tribe onto established Klamath Reservation in southwestern Oregon, home of their traditional rivals. As the Klamath outnumbered the newcomers, and the reservation was on traditional Klamath land, the Modoc were poorly treated.

In 1865, Kintpuash, a Modoc leader better known as Captain Jack, led the Modoc people from the reservation back to their home. In 1869, the Modoc were imprisoned by the United States Army and returned to the Klamath Reservation, but conditions had not improved, and Captain Jack led a band of about 180 Modoc to the Tule Lake area in April, 1870.

The Modoc warriors had plotted before the meeting to kill General Canby and the other commissioners, as they believed peace was not possible. He shot Canby twice in the head and cut his throat. The Modoc also killed Reverend Eleazar Thomas, a peace commissioner, and wounded others in the party. Canby was the only general to be killed during the Indian Wars.

Shortly after his head arrived in Washington it was lost, and stayed lost for decades. When it was eventually located it was found being used as a paperweight in the Smithsonian Museum.

There are so many different exciting aspects of pregnancy. I personally feel like the gender of the baby is a special surprise and I would want to find out on the delivery date.

Pregnancy is so beautiful and such a joy and yet still very scary and dangerous. Women with the best medical care in the world still have to worry about giving birth bc no one is guaranteed a safe delivery!

Pregnancy is supposed to be a happy and beautiful time and yet for Palestinian women it is more terrifying than anything. Knowing you have to give birth in dangerous and unsanitary conditions and bring your child into a world of immediate trauma and danger. Even when the delivery goes well the baby can never be safe until your family escapes the genocide.

I’ve told you all Ahmed Alanqar’s story of trying to get his family to safety. I also mentioned that his condition is so bad that his wife has had to take over the fundraiser and caring for him and the children.

Dina recently gave birth and she should be relaxing and celebrating and yet every day she has her feet to the fire trying to provide necessities and get out of Gaza. Keep the kids as happy and calm and fed as possible in the middle of a genocide and famine. In addition to her newborn she has 3 other very young adorable children to worry about.

I’ve asked her what the market for necessities is like these days and she sent me this.

$90 for 30 diapers? Can you imagine? Americans with good jobs can still struggle to keep up with the cost of diapers because of how quickly babies go through them. I seriously cannot begin to imagine one day in her life. I get overwhelmed so easily I think I would become unable to function. She doesn’t even have that choice to lay low and let what happens happen. She needs to wake up every day and try to make this work for her husband and her babies. Make them as comfortable as possible and try to secure enough food for them to be able to sustain the functions of their growing bodies.

Urgent! Please help a father save his three young daughters from war

Ahed is a 33 year old father of three young girls with his wife Maisoon. Getting Ahed the funds to evacuate his family is very urgent because they have three children under the age of ten with them, who currently don’t have access to food, clean water, or medical treatment they need. They’re at risk of bombs, infectious illnesses, and starvation every day they remain in Gaza. every hour matters

Ahed’s daughters are the light of his life and his motivation to keep going, and he’s campaigning on here every day to keep them safe. In Ahed’s words, his daughter Fatima (9) is “the closest to my heart, and my little one.”, Iman (6) “The friendly, kind, and loving child who is loved by everyone”, and little Nour, only one year old: “Who did not live her life like other children, as she was born two months before the war”.

Imagine that you’ve just had a baby girl, and you look at her with so much love and imagine with excitement what a bright future she’ll have and how she’ll play with her siblings. And only two months later, your whole life is turned upside down, and you have to wonder every day how you’ll feed her and keep her safe.

This is what happened to Ahed and his wife when they should’ve been at their happiest with a newborn daughter, everything turned into a nightmare. Their apartment was destroyed in a bombing, they were displaced multiple times, and suddenly they were raising their beautiful daughters in a war zone.

Every hour in Gaza is dangerous. Please help get Ahed, Maisoon and their children to safety as soon as possible 🙏🏼 Every donation will bring them closer to a future where Fatima, Iman, and Nour can play together and go to school and rest and recover from what they’ve been through.

Please give Ahed and Maisoon peace where they don’t have to watch their children suffer from illness and malnutrition, the worst thing for a parent to experience.

My name is Jaber Al-Haj, a graduate with honors in Applied Chemistry. I currently reside in Kuwait, but my heart and thoughts are constantly with my family, who remain in Gaza amidst the ongoing war and devastation. My wife, Muna, and our 2-year-old son, Hashem, live under the constant threat of violence and uncertainty. Every day, I worry about their safety and well-being, and my greatest wish is to bring them to Kuwait, where they can find peace, security, and a fresh start.

After graduating, I started a small cleaning products business in Gaza with my brother, Aboud. We built a modest lab from scratch, and over time, it became a stable source of income for our family. We dreamed of expanding and creating more opportunities, but our hopes were shattered when relentless airstrikes destroyed everything we had built, reducing our lab and future to rubble.

The war didn’t just take away our business; it also separated me from my family. It has been over a year since I’ve seen my wife and child in person. Unable to travel back to Gaza, I feel helpless being so far away from them during these difficult times. Despite all my efforts, it has been equally challenging to bring them to Kuwait, where I could offer them the safety and stability they so desperately need.

The Goal of This Campaign:

I am aiming to raise $29,000 to help bring my wife, Muna, and our son, Hashem, from Gaza to Kuwait, reuniting us and ensuring their safety far from the dangers of war. I have been chatting with Dina Alanqar @zinaanqar. 

She is currently in Gaza with her husband Ahmed and their four young children, the youngest only born in June. Like so many others, they lost their home in the north and have been displaced many times since. They’ve been struggling with lack of healthcare, clean water, hardships that I can hardly even imagine.

Their family needs funds for travel and accommodations when the opportunity to leave Gaza comes, and for their survival until then.

As you reading my message, myself and my family, “my mother, father, three sisters, and my little brother,” are trying to survive under all kinds of suffering including but not limited to fear, instability, and starvation, thirst, and poverty in northern G@za.

Since 389 days until now, We haven't had a single piece of fruit or even a single vegetable! For more than a year we have been living without any kind of meat, chicken or fish, we live without healthy food or clean drink, one meal costs us more than $100 per person after prices increased by 20-25 times, can you imagine the severe malnutrition we suffer from? I know for sure that you can't help all families that want your help but at least you can help those who come across your life.
