HIATUS OVER
MUN here:
It's been 10 years. I have returned - i turn 30 in July.. My name is now Victor!
I couldn't get the original blog back unfortunately as yahoo deleted that email for 'inactivity'. Moved over all the big rps i'd done and the posts that still sparked the muse haha.
My main tumblr is ScorchedPoet :)
I intend to roleplay as Ashley Williams again, hopefully some peeps are still out here!
The Double Date. (Order: Garrus, Shepard, Ashley, Kaidan.)
If there was one thing that helped to calm her nerves it would have to be pushing disturbing visuals into Kaidan’s thoughts. It had started out as accidental mentions but eventually had worked itself up to being a sort of fun sport for her to engage in. “Come on’ You know that you’d end up thinking about it eventually, I’m just helping you get the thought out of your head before it can come up again!” laughing softly she smirked at his reaction to what she had said to him, “I’m sure you can handle Garrus, Its Shepard I doubt you can handle” leaning back in her chair she shuffled in her seat as she tried to get accustomed to just where they were right now. But she couldn’t see that happening anytime soon if the others didn’t show and break the atmosphere into something even more fun and carefree.
If she were honest this wasn’t usually the sort of location she’d dare touch with a barge pole but for Kaidan and the others she’d give it a go. Didn’t mean she hadn’t went to the precaution of making sure she knew any exits or tactical spots before even daring reaching this day, she was anything if not prepared for the slightest trouble. Now if Kaidan were to realize just how tense she was about being in this sort of place it was doubtful he’d ever notice that she was a bit on edge about eating at this place.
Though it seemed that before too long he’d picked up on her nervous attitude, and her hand had been taken in his own. The touch of his lips upon her hand did at least manage to calm her down significantly so, “I know… With someone like you at the table it’d be a very strange occurrence for the evening to go sour”. And boy was she glad that Kaidan was the one by her side here, she could never really try this sort of formal outing if it were just her, Garrus and Shepard. Not only would that have made her a third wheel but it would also have meant missing out on Casanova’s charms.
“I have to confess you do know just the right things to say Kaidan” Ash spoke whilst smiling fondly towards Kaidan, taking one small breath before winking at him as if trying to figure out if she could tease him some more about what she’d brought up rather unfortunately. Garrus and Shepard would most likely play along anyway!
Now her intent had not actually been for Garrus and Shepard to overhear what she’d said to try and freak Kaidan out. But it seemed that she’d spoken at the wrong time as Garrus had indeed noticed and so had Shepard, this wasn’t going how she’d been planning but it seemed the two weren’t going to bite her head off or get offended by her prodding joke.
At the mention of drinks Ash simply nodded. At least if she were somewhat drunk she could you that an excuse in case she managed to put her foot in her mouth twice in one evening, and for a moment it felt like she’d managed to pass the topic without any consequence. That was until Garrus began to speak about just how it was meant to work and anatomy differences, if it weren’t for the fact that she’d not really been paying enough attention his simple description would have made her blush. As soon as her drink reached the table she followed Garrus’s example and downed the entirety of the glass, she wasn’t overly struck with whatever it was that had been ordered but she was hardly going to be fussing over hard liquor.
“Interesting food choices, personally I prefer what Skipper here cooks but. I suppose I’ll have this” nodding in Kaidan’s direction before then giving her order for the waitress.
“We spent quite a while on earth, helping out however we could… It just felt like the right thing to do” pausing for a moment whilst she tried to figure out just how much she wanted to say, “Spent around a year there until we moved to the Citadel. Found a nice apartment as well”. Once again it seemed that the topic was finally swerving away from its very strange roots and Ash was happy to get another drink, downing it once more so that she could find some liquid courage to tell Shepard and Garrus about the offer she’d received from the Alliance.
However it seemed Shepard was not going to let the topic go so easily and soon enough it was brought back to the table once more to bother her. And even more likely poor Kaidan, “Is that so Shepard? Hell I didn’t know you were so into telling people just how you worked in the bedroom, Alcohol at you already?” taking a pause she decided to throw yet another suggestive idea at her friends, “So- How do those Biotics work for you Garrus?” Ash said whilst motioning to Shepard, perhaps Ash was pretending that her tolerance to alcohol was horrible but this was becoming a very amusing evening just by flustering the two guys at the table. “This topics definitely gone somewhere different hasn’t it Kaidan?”
If there was one thing in the universe that Shepard never got tired of seeing, it was an embarrassed Garrus. He tended to get all wordy and unsure. If Turians could blush, Shepard was sure Garrus would be navy blue by now. Then again, she really had no room to talk as a blush of her own spread across her cheeks. What a very… direct question to be asked. Shepard might have made a quip about buying her dinner first before delving into her sex life, but hell. She figured going out to dinner with them was the same thing. As long as she was fed. Thankfully, her Turian seemed to be handling the talking for them both. An evil smirk twisted her lips. She had some interesting tidbits to hold back for later, when Garrus was drunk enough.
After their drinks arrived, Shepard looked at the purple-colored liquid. Huh. ”Asari Piss is what they call this back in basic. Said to be distilled with a weak form of Red Sand. I didn’t know it was legal to sell it now…” With a shrug, she downed it in one gulp, wincing as the burn nearly overwhelmed her. It was offset by a very pleasant aftertaste though, and as Shepard shook her head to clear it, she already knew this was going to be her drink of choice for the night. It was hard not to simply order the waitress to bring her the whole bottle. She was definitely used to getting what she wanted by simply demanding it. But no… she had to act relatively civilized. At least until she got drunk. That thought made her snort silently. When the waitress came back with a fresh drink, she asked her to keep it coming, and to make them doubles from now on. Hell, they were here to relax. She might as well go all out.
Words swam around on the menu as she opened it, and already, she could feel that warm hum suffuse her body, the gentle rush of blood in her ears quieting her mind. Shepard didn’t remember what she ordered, but the waitress smiled at her and took the menu, so she guessed she said something vaguely recognizable at least. She suddenly tensed, barefly fighting the urge to look down. There was a hand on her leg… And not just any hand. Flickering her eyes to Garrus without moving her head, she saw him making perfect conversation. Which was interesting, seeing as though he’d just finished explaining -however vaguely- about their sex life. That drink must have made him brave. His fingers were touching sensitive flesh up by her thigh, making goosebumps prickle along her skin. Huh. Suddenly, those ‘interesting tidbits’ could hardly be held in check. Two could play at this game.
Politely, she waited until Ashley and Kaidan had finished their answer about how long they’d been on the Citadel, filing their response away for later perusal. This little nugget of gold was too good of an opportunity to pass by. If Williams was curious about Turian sex practices, who was she to deny her the information? One might even say she had a duty to her former subordinate to help her learn as much as possible, especially with her boyfriend being the Primarch of the Turian homeworld- whether he wanted to admit that or not. Her justification for being a mischief maker only made the entire thing sweeter in her mind.
“You know Williams, Garrus was just glossing over things earlier. The mechanics of human/Turian sex are generally the same as any other species, yes. However, the practices, the ritualism… it’s different. Much more primal. Sex with a Turian is very much a struggle for dominance the entire time.” Here, she turned to Garrus, fire lighting up her green eyes. ”And a few more drinks like that Vakarian, I’ll be able to push you down with a finger to the chest and have my way with you.” She smiled cheekily, turning back to the human pair. Maybe it was the essence of the Red Sand coursing through her, but she felt decidedly playful… Shepard could even feel her biotics buzzing at the ready. It helped the buzz of the alcohol, making it more intense. Even though it was a strange sensation that she’d never felt before, the feeling of extremely slight vibrations rippling from her skin in harmless, invisible waves of energy was a pretty damn cool thing.
“That was not my fault,” he told her as they walked into the club. “The waitress said it was Dextro. Obviously, that human needs to go back to school.” That had not been a fun time either. He had been sick AND itchy. It was unbearable. He’d rather go fight a Reaper than go through that again. Shepard was such a tease … wanting him to check to see if she had her gun. Chuckling low in his chest, he pulled her closer to him. He’d just have to do that … but later. The actual club was huge. Well-organized. On one side were the tables for the restaurant. Then on the other was the dancefloor. The dancefloor was more occupied than the tables. It was dark, except for the colorful lights strobing and flashing in all directions. It didn’t bother Garrus much. He’d spent enough time following Shepard into clubs to get used to the smells and sights and sounds. Though it still hurt his sensitive hearing, he was able to mostly numb it down to background noise.
Following Shepard’s lead, Garrus joined her at the table with their former squadmates. “Hey, Williams … Alenko.” Helping Shepard into her seat, he sat down beside her and immediately heard Ashley ask about their sex life. “Uhhh,” his jaw drop, and he cleared his throat. He supposed he shouldn’t be surprised. A Turian and a human? Hell, he didn’t even know how it would work when they first started out. Apparently, human biology wasn’t so different from Turian … well … in that regard anyway. Hearing Alenko become just as flustered as he felt, he offered them both an uncomfortable smile. “I think we should start with some drinks. I’m aware none of us are really used to just … relaxing. Hell, even when we went to the club back during the war, we always had one hand on our gun. People like us? … We’re not meant for normalcy.” He gestured for the waitress to come over.
“Let’s start with the strongest drinks you have,” he told her. “Three Levo, and one Dextro.” He took the menu in hand as the waitress nodded and walked off. “Anyone know about the food here? Anything particularly appetizing?” He was still avoiding Ashley’s question. He had no idea what he was supposed to say … “There … uh … really isn’t much a difference. I mean … that goes in that … . and there’s thrusting involved … and then uhh … climax. Right, Shepard?” he looked over at her. “I suppose the only real difference is that my err … reproductive organ doesn’t uh … hang out … like Alenko’s does. Mine is held internally,” he explained. Garrus really didn’t want to further explain that. He felt awkward as it was. Thankfully, the waitress returned with their drinks. Immediately, he seized his and drained it in four large gulps.
“Damn,” he murmured, his mandibles twitching slightly as he licked over his plates. Whatever the waitress had given him, it had been … damn good. Hard liquor … and yet a little sweet, too. “A couple more drinks like that, and you might get your chance of topping me tonight,” he smirked to Shepard, giving her an affectionate look. “You know … maybe,” he teased, gesturing for the waitress to refill his glass. “I think it’d be best to keep that on tap, if you can,” he told her, tapping his Omni-Tool to transfer the necessary funds. “Anyway, food. Let’s get that settled first.” He looked over the menu, his gaze scanning over the Dextro options while his other hand was happily sliding along Shepard’s leg. Mhm. There was that gun. He knew it. “I’ll have the Boke plate. Fruit on the side, please,” Garrus gave the waitress his order, then waited for the others. Once their orders had been taken, he looked back at Ashley and Kaidan. “So, how long have you two been on the Citadel? Did you leave as soon as the Normandy reached Earth? Or did you stay on Earth for a bit?” he asked conversationally, sliding his hand casually over Shepard’s thigh.
Wait… Is Garrus really going to go there? Kaidan wondered as the turian began explaining the differences between turian and human male anatomy, using him as an example. Well, okay then.
“So, when you say ‘reproductive organs’ held internally… Do you just mean the testicles, or the whole package? Is the penis retractable?” he tried to ask casually, ignoring the surprised looks that he got in return. “What?” As far as he was concerned, the best way to approach a potentially embarrassing subject was to go for the objective, scientific perspective. At least, it was helping him distance himself a bit from the matter at hand, and not start wishing that the floor could just open up and swallow him already. Not swallow as in… Jesus Christ!
He was rather glad when the drinks finally arrived, and was about to down the content of his own shooter glass, when Shepard made a comment about it being “Asari Piss”. He immediately put his glass back on the table and frowned a bit, wondering if this would really be a good idea.
While he knew that the amount of Red Sand contained in the drinks probably wouldn’t be enough to mess with his implant, or trigger unpleasant memories, he wasn’t sure that he was willing to risk it. After BAaT, he had tried a few things in order to help him deal with the neurological side effects of his migraines, not all of them perfectly legal, and not all of them had had the most positive results. There was no way for him to make sure just how sensitive his biotics might still be to that stuff, but he’d rather not have to test it tonight.
He discretely pushed his glass towards Ashley, and whispered in her ear. “If you like it, you can have mine, too. Actually, it might end up making things more interesting later on.” he added a bit seductively.
He then motioned for the waitress to bring him something else, preferably strong and strictly alcoholic. She suggested something called a “Pulsating Azure” – a mix of Illium’s finest asari hard liquor, some exotic fruit juice, and just a hint of ryncol to give it a little kick. He had to wonder if that one hadn’t been created by Matriarch Aethyta. Nevertheless, it sounded pretty good!
Thankfully, it turned out that it was pretty good. Warm and sweet, but not too sweet, and quite relaxing, too… A few shots, and he was already starting to feel quite a pleasant buzz. He’d have to slow down and be careful since he tended to get drunk pretty easily. Thankfully, his biotic metabolism also meant that he got rid of the alcohol in his system pretty fast, so he rarely got sick or ended up stuck with a hangover the next day (well, besides the usual headache). But still, if he wanted Ash and him to be able to find their way back to their apartment later on, he might as well be reasonable.
“Wait. You guys serve moose?!” he suddenly exclaimed when the waitress came back to take their orders, sounding a tad bit overexcited. The menu had a section that offered different planets’ delicacies, including Earth; he just didn’t expect them to actually have moose on the menu! “Is it wild or domesticated? ‘cause wild meat has more of a nice, tangy, earthy taste to it that…” he suddenly stopped talking when he noticed that the asari waitress was looking back at him with a puzzled expression, as if saying ‘how the Hell am I supposed to know?’.
“Right. Sorry. My granddad used to be a hunter so…” thankfully, it occurred to him that she probably wasn’t interested in hearing about his whole family history, either. “I uh… I’ll have the moose steak. Rare, please.”
He listened to Ashley explain to Garrus what they had been up to following the Reapers war. “Yeah, Earth carried too many memories for me at the time being.” he added quietly, eyes turning a bit sad as he thought about his parents, instinctively grabbing Ashley’s hand for support.
Shortly after his father had gone M.I.A., his mother had decided to volunteer with the Alliance’s medical corps in order to help them provide care for the wounded and refugees.
According to his cousin, she had been driving herself mad while staying at the orchard, knowing that her son and countless other Alliance soldiers were out there, fighting and trying to save them. She felt that she just needed to do something – anything – to help them and hopefully make a difference. Sadly, one of the refugee camps that she had been assisting was later destroyed in one of the Reapers attacks while she was there. Still, she had helped save many lives, and Kaidan was deeply proud of what she had done.
As much as he wished that she had chosen to stay safe sometimes, his mom had never been one to sit idly or go into hiding when things got rough, and had always been a bit stubborn. Maybe he did take a lot after her, after all…
Understanding and accepting didn’t make him miss his parents any less, though.
“Plus, we thought that being on the Citadel would make it more convenient for the Council to get in touch with us if we were needed for Spectre duties.” he explained, choosing not to go into more details, since he didn’t want to be responsible for dampening the mood.
It thus almost came as a relief when Shepard chose to change the subject and elaborate on the intricacies of turian / human coupling instead. Almost.
Kaidan chuckled at Ashley’s question regarding their current topic. “Yeah. Not quite what I’d expected as first subject of conversation for the night…” he acknowledged, wondering if they would all end up talking about boring, casual stuff later on when really drunk. “Though Garrus should probably be thankful to be protected by natural armor if Shepard brings her vanguard abilities to the bedroom.” he teased. After all, vanguards weren’t exactly renowned for their gentleness and control when it came to biotics. And there probably was a difference between enjoying “primal sex”, and having a partner that could make you fly through a solid wall.
What … what was Shepard doing? He had answered the question. That was supposed to be enough! “Uhhh,” was all he could say when she explained their mating to be a struggle for dominance. His mind went blank even more as she turned to him. That familiar blazing look in her eyes made him swallow a rather large lump in his throat. A finger? Spirits. “In your dreams, Shepard,” he said finally, proud that his voice didn’t shake … that much. Well, at least now he knew he was guaranteed on getting laid that night. That was always something to look forward to. Shepard was slightly glowing, too. Her biotics were charging up. Must have been the drink. Speaking of, why was his glass empty again? He took the bottle and filled it up, then slowly drank it. With everyone gulping their drinks—primarily the women—it seemed that it was up to the men that night to be able to carry them home if necessity called.
“Wait, Kaidan, you cook?” he asked the human. “I’ve never seen you cook in my life. Can you maybe teach Shepard a few things? It’s not that I want meals for myself … I just want her to stop burning things and making the apartment smell terrible.” He poked Shepard’s side, tossing her a smirk. Spirits, did he love teasing her. All of a sudden though, Ashley returned to the topic of … well … sex. “No no no no,” he shook his head, “why don’t we go back to the topic of … Earth. Right? Yeah? Much less … embarrassing than … sex,” he cleared his throat. “I …,” he glanced at Shepard, feeling the pressure from her, “it’s um … biotics … in the bedroom are … well … it’s um … uhhhh … I guess we have those to thank for keeping Shepard alive? I mean … without them and her metal skeleton … she’d probably be dead. Which means we’d all be dead. So … I am now a full-supporter of biotics.”
Kaidan was worse. “Kaidan,” Garrus growled. “I. Do. Not. Want. To. Talk. About. My. Penis. At. Dinner.” He paused. “But yes, the entire thing is internal.” Quickly, he looked at Shepard and pointed a talon at her. “Don’t you dare say anything more about my penis. Hush. Close your mouth right now, Shepard,” he told her, slightly growling. Thank-fully, Kaidan had an outburst about moose … Whatever that was. “What’s moose?” he asked Kaidan. “Some sort of human delicacy?” Garrus noticed the sad eyes that both Kaidan and Ashley bore at the mention of Earth. Apparently, they had found some things there that would have been better off unknown. Or something. He didn’t feel that it was the time to ask about it just yet.
“Ah, Spectres. I feel slightly out-numbered here,” he murmured. All three of them were Spectres now … except him. Well … he was Primarch-sort-of of Palaven … that counted for something, right? Archangel? Yeah, he’d just play the Archangel card. Kaidan’s words about Shepard being a Vanguard made him need to put the story straight. “Even with her Vanguard abilities … Shepard likes it on bottom,” he smirked, his mandibles lifting in pride. “Isn’t that right, honeycakes? Born to be a bottom.” Ohhh, he was so going to get it later that night. Thankfully, before she could kill him in that instant, their food arrived! Garrus’ Boke was set in front of him. It looked like regular meat, except the blood that sweat off of it was a purple color. The fruit in a bowl beside the plate were vibrant colors as well. Purples and neon blues. He didn’t need to cut into his meat. Garrus just sliced off a corner of it, and then put it in his mouth. His incredibly sharp teeth did the rest.
“So … who’s up for a little dancing after we eat?” he suggested. “Work some of this off?” Garrus leaned toward Shepard. “Hm? Hmmmm? I know you liked dancing with me last time. I can even tell them to play a Tango.” His dancing lessons were coming along swimmingly well. Kasumi was teaching him to Waltz now. It was quite easy. Easier than the Tango, definitely. It was just a bit more casual and polite than the Tango. “And if all of you are going to be party poopers … than I will just go out there and dance by myself. Have all of the fun to myself.”

“It hurts when I breathe..”
“Distracted?!" Kaidan exclaimed in disbelief. Though he had to admit that it had been a rather intense fight that had gotten plenty of adrenaline pumping. "If you can’t tell whether you’ve gotten hurt or not, how am I supposed to…”
He stopped, knowing he was just making this worse. But he was worried, and scared, and the easiest way for him to cope with his distress was through action and anger.
Except Ashley needed him. She was injured, and probably in pain, though the medigel also acted as an anesthetic. She made a mistake; she messed up. There would be time to work this out later…
Plenty of time to threaten to envelop her in biotic barrier every single time she stepped out onto the battlefield again… Or impose a now obligatory complete body scan each time a fight was over…
There would be time, he had to believe that. But right now, this wasn’t about him. Kaidan let out a heavy sigh.
“It’s okay. I’ve got you, alright?” he stated firmly, but gently; tightening his hold on her a little.
As he finally made his way to the shuttle, he installed her next to him, lowering the back rest so she was in a - hopefully comfortable - half sitting position; while still being able to strap her up with the security harness.
He then took his place in the pilot’s seat, and started to make his way towards the nearest medical facility.
“Hey! Are you still with me?" he asked her; hoping to keep her conscious and talking although even if she did lose consciousness, the best course of action would still be to get her as fast as he could to a medical team.
She flinched slightly at his tone; although she understood he had every right to be upset that something so important hadn’t been noticed by her. Especially with their line of work it called for them to be observant to their health. She felt like an idiot really, but there wasn’t much she could do now but regret and focus on staying awake. Since losing consciousness would be in no way helpful to this situation. Rarely was being unconscious a good thing. She wanted to say something more- to make him feel better about this- but the words refused to form.
Where she’d been shot felt somewhat numb, but something told her that wasn’t as good a thing as she thought- even with Omni-gel the pain wouldn’t be fluctuating so much. She supposed the only way to find out would be to remain conscious until they reached a medical team.
“Alright.. I trust you” she murmured roughly towards him when he tried to reassure her, his hold on her tightened softly but it didn’t bother her in the least. And when she ended up lowered into a chair she let out a soft hiss, the pain returned from being moved. She leaned into the back rest somewhat tensely- not letting herself get too comfortable- couldn’t risk falling asleep.
Releasing a small breath she blinked back the blurriness, “I’m – still conscious” she mumbled softly, gazing at Kaidan- trying to focus enough to see him clearly.

“It hurts when I breathe..”
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me Ash, I swear…” Kaidan started mumbling, while quickly removing Ashley’s armor’s chest-plate and underclothes to expose the wound.
“The medigel should seal the opening of the wound so you’ll stop sucking in air through the thoracic wall, but we have to get you to a hospital.” he explained, having stopped asking questions now that he knew what the problem was.
And right now, the fastest way to get there was if they took the shuttle they’d used for their mission earlier. Having done all he could to stabilize her condition, he gingerly picked her up bridal style and started running towards the shuttle.
“You better pull through this one, Ash; or else I’m going to seriously kick your ass!” he seethed. The situation wasn’t exactly critical yet, but it would soon be if they couldn’t relieve the pressure in her chest. And to think he could risk losing her for something as stupid as… “The fight happened about 20 minutes ago, and you didn’t think to tell me before that a bullet hit you?”
Truth was, he couldn’t even tell what made him angrier. The fact that she didn’t tell him, or the fact that she’d gotten shot without him noticing.
Closing her eyes for a moment she tried to clear the black spots from her vision, something making it very hard to concentrate on Kaidan even though he was right near her- She’d misjudged this, Shit- she’d misjudged this really badly. This wasn’t like her in the slightest, what had made her so distracted in this battle? What had possibly had her head so wound up that she’d mistake a bullet wound for a stunning shot? Or for a shot to the shoulder?
"M'h- Sorry… Kaidhn” she stumbled on her words, the pain in her chest slowly growing as she came into realization of how she’d managed to ignore something like this for so long.
“Hosphi-Hospital?” if she hadn’t been angry at herself for her mistake before- knowing that she’d be having to go there made her feel worse, “Shit.” she murmured roughly flinching when he put Medigel over the wound. Normally she would jump slightly due to his suddenly picking her up to carry her- but her reaction was slow- delayed and sluggish. She simply blinked in confusion.
“I.. thou-ght, it was a stunning shot to the shoulder- Distr- I was Distrachted” she spluttered out as best she could as he carried her to the shuttle in a rush.

“It hurts when I breathe..”
*Freezes*
“What?”
*Forces her to sit down in the nearby chair and activates his omnitool’s scan.*
“Where? Throat, nose, thorax, back, head? Since how long? Did you get hit in the chest during the last battle? Did you inhale any fumes? Does it hurt when you talk, too? Do you feel lightheaded? Do you also have trouble getting any air in or it’s just painful?” *Short pause* “Am I going too fast?”
Ashley slumped slightly in the chair he had forced her to sit down in, forcing another breath out as he rambled through a list of things- though as she was growing increasingly light headed it became harder to make them out. “Whu? - I … Did get hit- i thought it was more just my shoulder but” she wheezes painfully. “It might have been worse, i'hm light headed- slow- slow down” she tries to lift her hand to her face but can’t manage it.

Joker thought over her question for a second. “Well, you can do that or it looks like we are going to be stuck at the Citadel for a while, we can go out and do something.” he said. “If you want, but we all know you want to, because you’d be hanging out with me, and that’s awesome.”
She seemed to ponder it for a few minutes, “The Citadel? Sounds more fun than sitting around waiting for something to happen. I’d invite Kaidan but i think he’s busy” she chuckles softly, “Meet you on the way out?”

Ash had been spending some time reacquainting herself with some of her favorite poetry, Tennyson always had her in a thinking mood- and the old journals of her fathers contained small sketches and notes that she felt compelled to read. Sighing softly she had just closed one when the speaker in the room started projecting. Startling she quickly put the journal aside. “Hey Joker, I can’t say i am. What’s got you bored?”
Joker smiled, hearing her response. He leaned back in his seat and sighed. “Oh I don’t know, the fact that we are just sitting here… I need something to do.” he groaned. “You want to hang out or something?”
Chuckling softly, Ashley knew he had to be lacking things to do if he was asking around to see who would be able to provide some fun. “Sure, Do you want me to come up to the Bridge?”

Joker was sitting around in the bridge, bored as shit. EDI was annoying him and they weren’t even flying anywhere. Just sitting at the Citadel. He looked down to the comm, thinking of all the people on the ship before smiling, remembering that Ashley was on board. He clicked the button so his voice would come onto the speaker in the room she was in at the time. “Hey, Ash? You busy?” he asked.

Unforeseen Complications
Pairing: Ashley/Kaidan
Prompt: Angst, My muse has poisoned themselves (accident or purposeful, up to the mun.) and become very ill while alone with your muse, Virmire AU, Canon Divergence, Spectre Ashley, Spectre Kaidan.
Stumbling out of the chamber she wheezes harshly before falling to her knees, darkness tints the corner of her vision whilst forces herself back on to her feet once more. Now normally on her missions things wouldn’t go so badly, but her backup had been delayed on the other side of the field. And the scientist whom had been intended to install the back up to shut off the gas had been shot trying to get to this chamber. She’d told her that it was so easy to fix even a Krogan could do it, she had let that statement slide since the women was bleeding out, and she’d wasted Omni gel trying to help the soldier. She had never even learned her name- not that it would matter- she wouldn’t get out of this mess now.
Leaning against a wall as coughs rack her frame she tries to steady herself, feeling dizzy- and a strange weightlessness. Though the door wasn’t far away, all she wanted to do was get away from this place. She didn’t want to die alone- not here, where horrible people did terrible things to good people. Biotics whom didn’t deserve what had been happening to them.
How did this all begin?
Oh. Biotics going missing. One coming to the Alliance and leading them into this. Biotics being exploited for the pursuit of knowledge into their abilities- Children dying when they got too strong, or lost purpose. It had made her sick, and she’d requested the mission so that she could help them reclaim the facility, they’d never expected someone to try and gas the entire facility.
Slipping down against the corner of the door, her legs giving way once again as the gas paralyzed her body’s nervous system slowly- but not slow enough. Hearing footsteps from down the hall she realized that someone was coming, she’d cleared this zone beforehand- if it was her backup then they’d arrived too late. Reaching into her Armour she forces a small metallic dog tag from the chain it is secured to, she runs her fingers over the name was a sad smile. Kaidan Alenko- it read. How would he react? He had been assigned to a different mission; he’d finished it too late to be allowed clearance to come here. Part of her wished he had come along but with his mind- he’d have prevented her from fixing this and shutting off the gas, would have used his biotics to keep her there whilst he died instead. I’d rather know he was alive. She presses her lips to the cool metal, it leaves smudges of blood on it but she still can read the name. That is good enough for her.
Scarcely the sound of a respirator thrums beside her ear, and she realizes that she must have closed her eyes at some point because she cannot see the trembling hand upon her face. “Ash?” the voice is male, and she recognizes it even in her current pitiful state. Kaidan? And though she tries to speak his name it dies in the back of her throat, forcing her eyes open once more as they struggle against the faint glow of Kaidan’s biotics. “Just focus on Breathing Ash”. Something is clipped around her mouth, also covering her nose. She wonders we he is wasting his time trying to save her. Pain burns through her chest as she takes in a sharp intake of breath, Weightless as her body is swaddled into Kaidan’s arms. “We’re getting out of here. Just stay awake. I’m not letting you go”.
