Ash and Colours

I was going to include some sarcastic dialogue about how I haven't drawn these guys in like 12ever but then I ended up liking the picture a lot without text on top

Let's kick this off with an old art dump, shall we?

Avalon, the titular land of ash and colours. The characters don't live here.

A variety of characters, all of Astrakis age (18-20), all from different tribes. The story basically follows them around as they go on this coming-of-age journey. I'll do more detailed profiles of them individually if and when I do more detailed portraits of them, but for now, their names are, from left to right, Kadri, Kisa, Marin, Zach, Orin, Arja*, Rhea and Kyra. (There she is! Kyra had a slight costume redesign a little while back that I didn't suddenly implement in the middle of Preamble.) *European j, pronounced like English y.

Authorfaun. His name is The Animator, and he's actually an archian. (I'll tell you what that is some other time.) He spends most of his time turning up where he shouldn't and not doing anything of value.

A costume redesign of Orin, because his one in (2.) was boring. Also, when showing this to a chat, someone thought it'd be a bright idea to roleplay shaving him and sticking Pinkie Pie's hair on him.

Super-old sketch of the five faun races in the setting! You can sort of see prototypes of Zach and Marin here. I'll do a more detailed post explaining them some time. (None of them are archians.)

More super-old sketches! This was when I was just working out the basic details of fauns as a whole, but you can see Rhea, Kyra, Arja and a prototype Kisa there. Indigo is a friend's character who I appropriated to make a faun version of, specifically to demonstrate the versatility of the template. At this stage, the simeoi were going to have individual unique ligatures on them, and as you go through life you stitch the ligatures of your friends and family on your simea, building a sort of tapestry of your life on a rag you carry (as a belt, loincloth, armband, scarf, etc). Buuut, I kept forgetting to draw them because of the detail, so that part was axed.

REALLY really old sketches trying out a bunch of different styles, on a scene of five Zachs fighting each other. As you can clearly see, I didn't figure out digitigrade legs for quite a while.
