Much progress has been made on my frock-coat ventures. I have the second half of the skirt to sew in and then the abomination that is sleeves. I am very nearly close to the fitting of the mockup, and yet I have noted a few adjustments to make.

After much sewing and researching, I have assembled a reasonable amount of the mockup, the latest victory being the lapel and collar. Both, which, were quite the puzzle to sew and fit but ultimately solved nonetheless.
Have been listening to YouTube in the back ground and Bernadette Banner's sewing room tour came on inspiring me to capture the mess that is my floor at the moment. Alas, this space is small, but there is a larger place on the horizon
A lot of work and maths go into drafting a pattern, especially so when fitting a male pattern to a female figure. It is rewarding and quite the enjoyable task.
Went to Goodwill today to get some sheets to use as fabric. Although I am not sure what the fabric content is of both of these it is best to use what would end in the trash. Recycling and all, yes?

While the cycling breeches are coming along, the weather has has decided otherwise. Winter is upon us and I fear the cotton fabrics I chose to make the breeches from will ultimately make braving the weather difficult. I do plan on continuing the project, but at the moment I am need of a coat. What better a coat than a frock coat! I am looking forward to a more advanced pattern, but never fear, I suspect I will have a machine to assist soon.

Currently finishing a pair of breeches, I believe it only appropriate to draft and sew a matching shirt. Of course, this has lead me down the rabbit hole of finishing the sporting look which includes socks. I am interested in this as it is hard to decide what to do about them.

Iāve finished the drafting of the pattern, and it is on to working with Muslin. I would like to buy from a local shop, but due to the plague, I went to a national chain. Regardless, I have muslin now.

The perfect article for my ongoing project, the Cycling Breeches. Having recently picked some fabric up for the final piece, I regret not purhcasing more yardage, as a full suit similar to the first image plate, would have been a fantastic project. Pieces to come I suppose.

Taking a break from my greater endeavor, the cycling breeches, to practice my back stitch by making a pocket.
Practiced a whip stitch, actually took me some time to get the feel for it. It turned out well and I'm sure on a final garment it will look nice
Practiced a double back stitch and pulled at the fabric. The muslin threads started to pull before the stitching did anything. Certainly a good solid stitch to use on final projects.
