Is it considered a faux pas to call myself aroace/an aroace lesbian if I’m not technically “fully” aroace. Like if we wanted to get technical im demiromantic and aceflux but calling myself aroace 1.) takes up less syllables/words/characters 2.) kinda just fits more with my relationship vibe if that makes sense?
but also I’d hate to, like, mislead or poorly represent the “fully” aroace community
Call yourself whatever you want forever. It’s not incorrect at all to call yourself aroace if you’re on the aroace spectrums! It’s not misleading, and in my experience, everyone in the community is super kind and accepting and absolutely will NOT push you away for not being “fully” aroace. You’re on the asexual spectrum and the aromantic spectrum, which means you’re fully welcome in both the aroace community and the queer community as a whole. Only exclusionists would disagree. Though, that being said, I do encourage you to use your specific labels if you can and feel safe doing so! Not because it’s bad to use umbrella terms, but because it is good to use the specifics if you can. Get a demiro and aceflux flag! Or an aroace one in addition to a lesbian one! or whatever combo you want!
