Hi. It will get finished! Thank you all for being lovely (and I forgot I left it on such a cliff hanger). Super hard writing at the moment as Hands is at home and I can't write fic in front of him, and my original fic is currently taking precedence (Sherlock Holmes crossed with Terry Pratchett crossed with world mythology with comedy and steampunk). Bit of mental health as well, but thank you everyone for being ever so lovely.
I also have no idea how to tag anyone to thank you, but thank you. Tumblr has changed since I was last here.
We got an anon ask about our favorite fic a little bit ago but my answer wouldnât post so doing this as a text post instead. I couldnât pick just one, so here are my favorites in four categories. These are my favorites as @qveenofthorns. @thehound, @jessmariana, and @grantaere may have their own favorite.
Book canon: Northern Lights and Midnight Sun
Unfinished (and hasnât been updated in years) but itâs still over 200k words and absolutely worth the read. It picks up after AFFC with Sansa in the Vale and has some background Braime.
Show canon: Gone North, To Die (by @raginglittlehurricane)
Takes place after S7 and, given the current state of S8, should be a breath of fresh air.
Modern AU (serious): Girl From The North Country (also by @raginglittlehurricane)
Biker AU (think Sons of Anarchy) with serious Kingâs Landing/Blackwater vibes. Verrryyy slow burn and angsty but it has a happy ending.
Modern AU (humor): Baked (by @asbestosmouth)
Great British Bake Off AU where Sandor is a judge and Sansa is a contestant. Donât let the Ramsay tag scare you off. Just trust me on this one.
I canât find my favorite Kingâs Landing fic right now but will update this post if I do.

I've read a fair amount of j/c (I love fucked up ships with beautiful angry people) and spent some time talking about j/c in fandom circles and it brings me SO MUCH joy that at least one point of j/c and j/b solidarity is the certainty that Jaime is into pegging (for at least a little while there "cersei has a golden fake cock made to peg jaime with and they are both very into it" was a Trope)

I guess Iâm a double outlier, because Iâm not a guy relating to Jaime or a girl relating to Brienne - I relate more to Jaime but Iâm female. But perhaps thatâs too subtle a distinction for these people. They seem to require billboards or skywriting of simple ideas in words of two syllables or fewer.
I mean, if they can dispute the clear signs of romantic love between Brienne and Jaime, and think the wine-sodden psychopath is a healthier option, thatâs just proof that perception is not one of their strengths.
I love Tormund, I married a Tormund. I'm not a Brienne, or a Jaime. I'm wibbly wobbly gender bendy. If I were a character in these shenanigans I'd be Sam Tarly with additional cheerful death and swearing tendencies.
I'm on the relationship growing from mutual respect and understanding train rather than unhealthy incestuous one.
I have preferences. Other people have other preferences. That's all good. Vive le difference. Just don't start yelling at people like a toddler having a stampy foot tantrum when you decide that some other people are wrong with their perception of material or their choice of ship. Hello, hello! I just wanted to tell you that I read your fic "A matter of chance" and that I think is awesome, and now I'm reading other fics that you wrote. When I'm reading your work I like to imagine the movie version of your fics and my headcanon is something ala "Love Actually," " Four Weddings and a Funeral". I just picture a great ensemble cast and Rowan Atkinson in some odd role.

This doesnât mention that the tabs werenât just fabric, the stays ran down into them so the stays didnât end at and dig painfully into the waist. As someone who has worn this stuff like regular clothes for weeks at a time I can tell you from personal experience that that is NOT COMFORTABLE if you have any chub that likes to assert its presence when you sit. A nice side-effect is that the stays-in-tabs also serve as tummy control.
And the chemise-under-stays thing is ESSENTIAL because of the chafing, as mentioned, but also to keep sweat from the stays (because you will drip like a cheap candle in all this gear). Though I always made my corset with spring steel stays coated to prevent rusting, so washing them was possible.
Stays are far more comfortable than people thinkâ excellent back support!â and in no way restricting of breath or movement unless laced too tightly or simply made poorly, with bad fit.Â
Side-lacing isnât mentioned, either. It wasnât too common, but I always like it, because lacing can spoil the nice smooth surface of the front and back of the bodice. Plus, while not precisely easy to do up and tighten when dressing without a helper, it is possible, and thus a nice compromise.
I am sliiiiiightly drunk and the thought of my lovely @hardlyfatal in this is making me vibrate with proud fandom wifeness.

Me? Iâm absolutely a Stark! Mousy brown hair (exactly like Nedâs in the show). Grey/blue eyes. Plain face. I often say I look more like Ned Stark than Ned Starkâs daughters. Oh, and like Adecila before me, I have pale skin (pale-because-I-donât-get-enough-sun), and while this isnât a physical attribute, like Tormund, every time winter rolls around I say âAhh, finally, I can breathe again!â
