I couldn’t control them and I killed the man.” She used the back of her hand to wipe at the tears she couldn’t help but shed. “I deserve whatever happens to me.”
When she told him the secret about her past, he would simply pull his mask off when he looked at her. “Hey,” Miles mumbled, attempting to pull her attention toward him. He would cup her face, wiping at her face for her now. “Look at me, shorty...you are not your crime.” He whispered, moving closer a little bit now to take her mask off slowly. “Everybody makes mistakes, but what makes the good guys different from the bad guys is that we do our best to do better.” He wouldn’t stop trying to stop her from doing this to herself. “With great power comes great responsibility.”
Maddie.
Maddie used Miles’ arm to pull herself to her feet and kept a hold on him, body shaking with terror as she stared down at the monster. “Come on, baby. We have to go.” She gripped his hand and pulled him towards the open door. “Now.”
Once he was inside, Miles slammed the door shut. “Call 9-1-1, Maddie.” Miles said quietly, looking out of the window to see if the man followed them. “I need to go back out there...” He decided, slowly backing away before he turned around to go walk into the bedroom. He would have to get his web shooters. “He’s gonna try to hurt somebody else.”
