idk if i’m gonna write up a case 5 thing any time soon, i need to get over myself first, but tl;dr is that galan set the fire, killed sousuke bc he wasn’t even supposed to be there in the first place, but kept amara alive bc her intention was always to fake amara’s death. galan doesn’t have any spiritual powers herself, but wanted the power and status of king, so amara always pretended to be galan and did spirit channeling for her
amara had believed for a while it really was dirk that set the fire, but then dirk showed up about 8 years later and told her it was never him, so they ran off together. in this time, rayfa was born. eventually, amara was found, and galan took rayfa as her own kid as a kind of hostage to keep amara around. amara took up the guise of baaya, and as she was allowed to be around rayfa and get attached to her, what that meant was that galan keeping rayfa “hostage” was just that more effective.
wrt inga, galan killed inga too. she was hiding above the casket, stabbed him, and she walked around in front of him in dirk’s clothes (which she got FROM HIS CORPSE after hiding him) to fool him (he has prosopagnosia, so he judges people based on characteristics). she then forced amara to do the coverup: she channeled inga, who may or may not have been aware his death was real, in his room; he ran out upon noticing the meeting time was half an hour away; amara cancelled the channeling; she used a special stones introduced in case 3 to force dirk out of maya’s body he arrived, and then channeled dirk herself and made it look like he had just killed inga.
I NEED TO TAKE MY TIME WITH THE REMAINING STUFF and also get over myself. idr when the full DLC case comes out, but i do know that it’s set after the main game so give me a second to cry.
the other, smaller dlc cases (japan and khura’in side) are……”impossible situations” iirc, so. we’ll see, i guess. they’re just non-canon playtime and that might make me even more upset.

it’s weirdly hard to figure out when and how long apollo and nayuta lived together. apollo was orphaned in khura’in, and datz mentions trying to look for his mom, so that could mean he’s been with them since that time. but it’s hard for me to figure out whether or not dirk still had either of them when he found amara and ran off with her (which would have been with they were 9/10 years old), and apollo also mentions it’s been 10 years since he’s seen or heard from dirk, which originally gave me the impression he only went to japan about 10 years ago.
nayuta and apollo don’t refer to each other as brothers, either, so? it’s kinda hard to tell whether or not they really grew up together from young childhood? or if apollo was sent abroad to an orphanage first, before dirk decided to take him in anyway? i don’t think anyone ELSE ever refers to them as siblings, either, so like they obviously grew up knowing they weren’t at all related. and then there’s some other small things, like where apollo apparently got that bracelet from–did thalassa keep it with sousuke and apollo because they were doing different things at the time? when did nayuta himself get kicked out of the royal family, and did he go with dirk immediately? dirk was kind of an escaped convict, after all.
if/when gs7 ever gets announced, there’s a disproportionately high chance it’ll involve the gramaryes, or at least thalassa herself. they would be shooting themselves in the foot if they didn’t, with that scene with thalassa there (which iirc has blips and shit, so it’s even DIFFERENT from the other ending scenes)

i’m personally fighting myself on how i view the ending rn. case 5 felt a little weird in and of itself, in that early parts of the case focused so heavily on apollo, and him receiving that picture of his dad was a big deal, and he even admits to his curiosity, but in the end it felt like kind of a blip, and apollo not really having any kind of emotional response to his last memories–not even a little–felt kinda strange. everything about apollo’s biological family felt like more of a set-up–one that i appreciate, to be sure–or an attempt to answer long-standing questions about how and why thalassa never went looking for him without making it the main focus.
i guess it kinda felt like i had the rug puled out from under me? there was this idea introduced in case 5 that we’d get answers about apollo specifically, and the more the case went on, the more it went to be about the khura’in royal family, using apollo’s connection to dirk as an excuse to bring the WAA lawyers into the revolution. and i guess that was what soured apollo staying, for me, was that sudden shift in focus to nayuta taking up dirk’s ideology, only for nayuta to completely turn it around on apollo when the case kinda stopped being ABOUT him by the end.
