Yeah, Hal was sure someone would miss him. Maybe a few someones.

But they'd get along just fine without him. The world would go on without one small android tucked away in a corner.

Of course there was a backup created, a database of all the information Hal had collected and everything that was part of him. If he was ever needed again, someone could use that.

But that's silly. No one except the owner of said data ever used it.

And he was sick of the exact same data.

Sick of himself and sick of life. Loneliness plagued him, along with whatever other issues he'd picked up over the span of time that was his existence.

Even if the feeling went away, it would eventually return, as the lifespan of an android of Hal's quality was built to surpass humans by quite a bit.

Of course, he wouldn't be having any of that.

This put an end to everything.
