Before Roxas and Xion, Kayaxa was the first Number XIII and the first Heart Collector in the Organization. She's able to collect Hearts by manipulating Borders to reverse its "code". Instead of a Heart appearing as it dies, it goes directly to Kingdom Hearts itself.

Kayaxa is described to be harsh and cold by the other members within the Organization. She would sometimes remind other members of their roles and jobs if she catches any of them lazing around.

Kayaxa joined the Organization while walking endlessly in a world-between-worlds that resembled her own within her memories. She was recruited by Saïx.

She once took the Organization's plan to create Kingdom Hearts seriously. Her power over Borders helped her collect Hearts, but her lack of experience with them made it challenging for her to effectively collect them. It strained her energy constantly, putting her at great risk on every Heart Collection mission. Despite this, her great longing of a Heart put these struggles aside.

She is usually seen with Saïx passing on mission reports and morning coffee.

Kayaxa eventually starts to doubt the goals of the Organization after a few cracks beneath it's facade start to grow. She leaves after this.
