I think for backstory, Abolish could also still have a similar backstory as in canon, where instead of being sent to Morcant and the organisation, he's sent to Scott, where he becomes Scott's butler due to how competent he is. Abolish then would have also been affected by whatever eternal slumber curse was put on Scott (be it because of his proximity to Scott or because he tried to stop the curse, or something else idk), but he wasn't put to sleep. Instead, he waited the 600 years for Scott to awaken (which. crossfangs potential there) and watched all of Oakhurst's history happen.

Abolish's outward personality would barely change, he would just be a lot more invested in specifically Scott's wellbeing and victory and not show that to anyone. Also, Owen can still be a starting vampire, but now Abolish also knows what happens to him, and the two recognise each other.

Ep1 rolls around, and there's two options here. (I like #2 better because I enjoy Evilbolish)

1. Abolish stays human at the start to have eyes in the town because they know Scott stands out. When Scott is kicked out of town, Abolish stays behind and makes his preparations. Eventually, when the all out war of the last 3--4 episodes happens, Abolish is turned by Scott and becomes his attack dog. Nobody who is not loyal to Scott survives this.

2. Abolish is turned first, and we get to see him hide among the town as a vampire even after Scott is kicked out and the rest of the coven is discovered. We then see him be Scott's right hand, doing all the dirty work with terrifying ease. Nobody except Abolish gets directly turned by Scott, and anyone who is turned after that is turned by Abolish. I imagine in this scenario, there would be a lot less turns and quite a few more deaths.
