admittedly, running the soundboard isnât the most glamorous or most technically advanced job. and itâs one phineas is definitely overqualified for, but itâs helpful and something to keep him occupied. heâd needed to sit in on the pep rally rehearsal to run a soundcheck; and was on his way out after it wrapped up when one of the cheerleaders caught his eye, standing a little apart from the others. "you guys looked really good. very peppy.â he smiled and gave her a smile wave as he walked toward her.
// your dude needs some new threads going, so hereâs a starter all ? if you want a thing with dodger, webby and/or phineas pls reply with who you want and preferably who for !!

running late was always in megâs repitoire. it didnât matter what it was or where she was going, the grecian girl was always in a hurry. this time, however, she was running late to pick up her bossâ new years order from a local bakery. â HEY! â she exclaimed as she almost barrelled right into another personâs chest. â watch where youâre going. â a scowl formed across her face as she skidded to a hault, trying to catch her balance.
itâs only a reflex for phineas to apologize, muttering âsorryâ almost simultaneously with her exclamation. even though itâs not entirely his fault that he didnât see her until it was already too late to move aside due to the crowd inside the shop. maybe not the best day for picking up a bunch of treats for his familyâs little new years party. âwhatâs the hurry?â he asked, shifting the boxes in his arms so that they didnât get dropped.

Silvermist is far too soft-spoken to be good at shouting rules from her lifeguard postâand the whistle is so shrill she doesnât use it unless absolutely necessary. When any regulation needs repeating, she does so calmly. âPlease donât run by the poolâwet floors are slippery and you could fall and get hurt! If you need to get somewhere quickly, you can try just walking a little bit faster.â
Even though itâs a heated indoor pool, the place is almost deserted. Only a few other people have any desire to go swimming this time of year, and most of them were more of the water aerobics type. So when the lifeguard calls out from her post it isnât difficult to figure out who sheâs talking to. âIâm fine,â Webby called back with little more than a glance up at the lifeguard stand and continuing to race to the far end of the room until she reached the wall. Giving herself ample room for a running start. âSee? I know what Iâm doing.â

the  other  probably  has  more  important  things  to  do  than  help  him  and  ricky  canât  help  but  feel  a  little  bad  -  at  least  at  east  high,  he  was  a  little  bit  see-through,  before  the  musical  thrust  him  into  the  sight  of  many  others.  he  was  fine  doing  whatever  he  wanted  ;  skating  with  red,  all  that  kind  of  thing.  but  even  in  walton  things  are  different  and  it  feels  like  thereâs  a  spotlight  on  the  back  of  his  head.  "recently  -  i  had  it  then  i  think  someone  took  it.â  which  sucks,  'cause  that  was  expensive.
dodger raised an eyebrow at the suggestion that someone might have stolen it. sure, it was possible, but walton creek was surprisingly low on that sort of petty crime. he would know. but he certainly hadnât taken it, and to the best of his knowledge none of his friends had either. a skateboard would probably be up titoâs alley, but he wouldnât take anything from a kid. it's more likely that it just got misplaced. âwell, where was the last place you had it? iâll help yaâ look.â

nini gently sets her drink down, taking a seat right next to the stranger. youâd think after being here so much nini would have her own table. â thank you, i wish i knew it was this packed here today. wouldâve probably gotten here earlier if that was the case. â nini releases a chuckle, taking small sips of her smoothie to ignore the awkward tension if there was any. â i donât think iâve seen you before either. iâm nini - you could say iâm new here? itâs nice to meet you, phineas. you have one awesome name by the way. are you a newcomer too? â
phineas took a sip of his hot chocolate as she settled in, wanting to give her plenty of space in case she didnât want to talk. though heâs glad when it appears that she does want to, and a small, friendly smile returns to his face. â thanks, my mom gave it to me. â he chuckled lightly, setting his cup back down on the table in front of him. â kind of. iâve been here for a few weeks. long enough to have a routine, but not long enough to have any clue whatâs going on. â as if anybody knew anything at all.

thereâs no casual way to disclose the fact that youâre royalty, so ben just offers a sheepish smile and says, âi was raised as a prince â iâm a little behind on my basic skills.â somehow, he imagined that would have sounded more normal than stating iâm the king of a kingdom far away from here but it seems he was mistaken. it still sounds very weird. âreally? this town has been veryâŚordinary, in my experience.â and heâs thankful for it. âbut i guess iâm not a very good judge of whatâs ordinary, am i?â
thereâs a brief pause before dodger nods slowly. âi see,â he says just as slowly. how is one supposed to respond to that kind of information? itâs certainly not an explanation he could have guessed, but then again, he would be hard pressed to think of any explanation that sounded halfway normal. âyour ordinary and my ordinary must be two very different things.â astute observation, captain obvious. âlets just say iâve seen people doing some kind of, i donât know â magic tricks? that definitely arenât possible where iâm from.â

days continued to be a bit lonely and gloomy - nini wasnât exactly sure whether it was just because the weather here at walton creek was completely different than utah but.. she supposed this was her home now. technically, this so-called âholiday cafĂŠâ nini has been going to for the past month is probably where she spends most of her time. a sigh escapes her lips as she picks her pink smoothie up, only to find no open seats anywhere. â um.. hi. do you mind if i sit next to you? i mean - only if thatâs okay. i wonât be a bother, i promise. â this was just another situation where nini was embarrassing herself once again.
â of course, sure, â phineas smiled warmly and set his book down on the bench next to him before sliding over a couple of inches to make some extra room. â thereâs plenty of space. and i donât mind the company. â he patted the now empty spot beside her to invite her to sit down. the place was packed â almost unusually so â but even if it hadnât been he might have invited her to join him anyway. he didnât recognize her, and she looked a little lost. like she could use someone being a little extra nice. â i donât think iâve seen you before, have i? iâm phineas. â

walton  creek  â  is  surely  something,  ricky  thinks.  itâs  not  like  salt  lake  city  ..  but  itâs  still  nice,  he  supposes.  thereâs  almost  a  breath  of  relief  when  he  doesnât  have  to  remember  lines  for  the  musical,  or  deal  with  his  parent  fall  out  (  part  of  him  is  still  in  denial  )  ;  itâs  a  nice  break  from  it  all.  instead,  he  does  what  he  does  best  -  skate.  or  ..  he  wishes  he  could  because  he  canât  find  his  trusty  skateboard.  "hey  ââ  he  says,  almost  shy,  but  determined.  y'seen  a  board  'round  here  ..  maybe  a  bit  longer  than  this?â  his  arms  spread  as  an  example,  though  heâ  sure  itâs  not  much  help.
dodger raises an eyebrow as the boy tries ( and seems to struggle with ) describing what heâs looking for. heâs new â that much is obvious based solely on how lost the poor kid looks. and really, itâs that lost, confused vibe is what made him stop long enough to see what he was after in the first place. this town and the fact that he still hadnât managed to find his people again were making him go too soft. âi know what a skateboard looks like,â he answers with a light wave of his hand. âyou seen it since you been here? or you lose it more recently?â

callmebcepmeâ
All of Kimâs life, sheâd been in on the action. Sheâd learned martial arts at a young age, she was captain of the cheerleading squad, she was always going on missions⌠the point was, Kim didnât normally have a lot of free time. Was she adapting well? Not exactly. After she finished her homework, Kim ended up in a local part, choreographing a cheer routine. âGo Mad Dogs,â she said enthusiastically, wishing she were back in Middletown.
When someone walked by, Kim removed a headphone and offered the person a smile. âSo, how much of that did you catch? Was it totally lame or decent? Itâs a work in progress.â
The park was turning into one of Webbyâs favorite places in town. It was one of the few places she couldnât get kicked out of (for one reason or another) so it was where she naturally migrated whenever the nephews were busy or she otherwise had free time. She wasnât quite sure what the girl on the other side of the park was doing, but it caught Webbyâs attention enough for her to wander over and watch. âI was watching for a little while,â she admitted. âIt depends on what you were doing. Was that dancing or taekwondo? Or something else? It kind of looked like a combination of both to me.â

Rapunzel found herself finally exploring town ad she wandered into the bookstore. A quiet chime rang over the door and she greeted the employee with a smile and a short conversation before making her way over toward the magazines. She wanted to see what this town was all about. Before she knew it, she had fifteen magazines strewn about her on the floor as she lay on her stomach to read one, flipping through casually. She never had magazines like these ones back in Corona, so it was nice to see the glossy photos and explore a new world. She barely heard the chime above the door as someone else entered the store. âLook Pascal,â she said to her chameleon friend who was sitting on her shoulder, âthe people here arenât so different after all! They just take lots more photos!â
ââ Woah,â Phineas stopped short as he rounded a corner, just a few inches she of the sea of magazines spread out on the floor and the girl on the floor reading them. Running into another person was enough of a surprise â heâd started to frequent the bookstore once he discovered that they had an impressive science and technology section, and for as often as he was there he rarely saw any other customers â but the scene on the floor in front of him was enough to make him pause. âHi,â he said tentatively, looking over the covers of the magazines before his eyes finally landed on the lizard perched on her shoulder. âIs that a chameleon?â

barbie  laughed  at  the  young  girls  naivety.  "not  ghosts,  haunted  is  a  term  used  to  explain  that  someone  seems  scared  â-  and  when  you  say  stuck,  do  you  mean  stuck  in  the  tree?â  barbie  asked,  "i  can  help  you  if  you  would  like.â  stuck  also  has  many  meanings,  and  barbie  wanted  to  make  sure  both  her  and  the  girl  were  on  the  same  page.  "how  would  you  like  me  to  help?â
webbyâs brow furrowed â that was a new definition for her, but she wasnât in the best position to be asking too many questions. that could wait until she was back on her own two feet. âright. stuck in the tree.â she confirmed. a little confused because it seemed obvious, but again, not the best time for questions. âdo you see my bag there? at the base on the tree?â against the base of the tree was her light pink, tactical style backpack, and webby knew where everything in all of itâs various pockets was located. it was just a matter of directing the other girl where to look. âthere are two pockets on the front, and in the bottom one thereâs a couple of pocket knives. can you get one and toss it up here to me?â

âhad to? no. but besides that, i wasnât exactly allowed, either.â the exception was school, sort of. at auradon prep, he still didnât choose the meal options provided, but he at least got to decide which one he ate. benâs idea of freedom of choice was slightly skewed. âi suppose that makes sense. oh, of course. so, the more crisp the apple, the better?â ben grabbed an apple that felt acceptably firm and placed it in a plastic bag. âi appreciate your help, i knowâŚit must seem silly, assisting a grown adult with something so simple.â sure, he was entrusted to run a kingdom, but he couldnât figure out how to grocery shop.
his answer doesnât really provide much clarity, and for a moment dodger looks at him with a puzzled expression. heâd gotten used to a certain level of strange over the past few weeks, but this was a much more normal kind of strange. âright,â dodger confirmed with a nod. âno prob, donât sweat it.â he shrugged and looked over the pile of apples and selecting a couple for himself. ânot the weirdest thing iâve seen this week. not by a long shot.â
hvrtagain
in auradon, ben never even had the opportunity to choose what he ate. he had input, sometimes, on what meals were prepared for him, but nobody in the royal family did their own grocery shopping. even when he helped his mother bake, all the fruit was collected by a servant. mal could probably help with this, but in her case, it was an extreme in the other direction. all sheâd had to choose from growing up was rotten and less rotten fruits. âsoâŚlooks are important?â generally itâs something he doesnât believe, but maybe in some cases, it holds true.
the confusion on dodgerâs face is more than likely clear by now, but mixed in is a certain amount of clarity. âyouâve never had to get food for yourself before, have you?â he stated more than asked â what other explanation could even make sense? he has a few hazy memories of similarly clueless energies, from others who suddenly found themselves trying to fend for themselves ( and subsequently, the rest of the gang ). âsort of. looks are good for telling if somethings gone bad.â that bruised apple is a good example, and dodger presses his thumb into the center of the off-colored spot before offering it to the other. heâs being uncharacteristically patient, but he feels for the guy. âsee how thatâs all soft? apples arenât supposed to be soft like that.â

walton  creek  wasnât  necessarily  all  that  interesting  ;  frankly,  benny  was  bored.  ethan  and  erica  were  here,  but  like  â-  they  donât  like  mischief  as  much  as  rory  and  itâs  a  damn  shame  that  he  hadnât  made  an  appearance  back  into  the  spellmasters  life.  he  could  surely  do  some  dumpster  fights  right  about  now.  the  only  person  who  seemed  to  be  on  the  right  idea  of  getting  into  trouble  was  maya,  but  she  had  her  own  things  going  on  that  it  didnât  feel  right  dragging  her  into  his  messes.  so,  heâs  on  his  own.  nose  scrunches  up  at  the  kid  â  heâs  not  annoyed,  not  really,  but  itâs  fun  to  pick  on  kids  younger  than  him  â  an  eyebrow  raised.  "what  â  got  y'self  stuck?â
âjust a little bit.â no use in trying to downplay, especially if she wanted to get down sometime in this century. and already, webby was getting triplet vibes from the boy looking back up at her. which under different circumstances would be more than welcome. not so much when sheâs already annoyed at herself for getting into this mess in the first place. âitâs a long story,â she started, letting out a breath. âyou donât have a pocket knife or anything like that on you, do you?â

âthanks,â she says, just as quietly, her face reddening. sheâs still not used to being around humans. for one thing, other fairies didnât think much of each otherâs abilities, even if those from different parts of pixie hollow could appreciate powers they didnât have. âno, what?â peri asks with genuine curiosity, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. ââŚreally? my sister and i did the same thing! er, sort of. we made a snow machine when i came to visit her in the autumn forest.â her wings flutter of their own accord, as if remembering the time they almost broke.
her excitement makes his face light up, and the mention of a snow machine piques his interest even more. âgreat minds think alike,â phineas grins. âdid your snow machine do the same soft of thing you just did there?â he still remembers their own backyard snow storm as if it happened last week. it wasnât his most sophisticated project, but it was still one of his favorites. âi canât wait until it gets cold enough to snow.â assuming that they were in a place where it would get cold enough for it to snow. he sighs contentedly, settling his hands in his pockets. âthis seems like the kind of place that probably looks really pretty in winter.â
