Mephisto and Inarius in the Sin War books
Okay gang, I went and skimmed through the third book, the Veiled Prophet, to find more evidence about Mephistoâs predatory interest regarding Inarius.
After the defeat of Inarius and the sacrifice of Uldyssian, the Angiris Council gathers to decide the fate of the Sanctuary, as we know. Mephisto intervenes this gathering, offering to seal the Burning Hells away from the Sanctuary, on the condition that he gets to keep the renegade angel who caused all the trouble to begin withâŚ
Letâs look at the book itself and see how all that actually happened:
When asked about his motivations, Mephisto says that âOh my kids died here and I wanna honor their memoryâ, butâŚ. THAT IS SUCH A BLATANT LIE OMGâ
It has been stated very clearly that Mephisto did not spare his children from his hatred. Heck, in the Lord of Hatred DLC we learn that he created Lilith to be his little puppet in his little puppetshow, basically a TOY for him to combat boredom with. And when Lilith stepped out of line, running away with Inarius and creating Sanctuary, Mephisto wanted to hurt, punish and humiliate her by DESTROYING EVERYTHING she had created, just to show her she can never be anything more than what he made her to be.
Iâm absolutely certain that if Lilith had been still around at the end of the Sin Wars instead of being stuck in the Void, Mephisto would have taken her to be tortured for eternity as well.
Fucking grade-A father of the year, isnât he? So thatâs why Mephistoâs âmotivationâ is a clear lie. He doesnât give a damn about his children, never has, and would certainly never bargain with the angels he oh-so-hates for the sake of Lucion and Lilithâ
I find Mephistoâs hesitation here interesting. Was he unsure if the angels would agree to give him Inarius? Did he worry that they would see through his lie and realize his true intent regarding the renegade angel? It is⌠SUS.
He also blames Inarius for the fate of Lucion and Lilith (fair enough), but is there any truth to that, really? We already established that he does not care for them, so why would he be so intent to punish Inarius for their sake?
This is by far the most incriminating partâ WHY the FUCK is he SO DAMN INTO GETTING HIS HANDS ON INARIUSâ!?!
Tendrils. Tendrils. Fucking TENDRILS. What do you mean they âeagerlyâ wrapped around him???????
And afterwards, once he has secured his new boy-toy-to-be, Mephisto canât even talk without the sheer pleasure of it all seeping into his voice. What more evidence you even need? I rest my case.
TL;DR: Mephistoâs dialogue in the books heavily suggests that he wants Inarius carnally
