“I haven’t even heard the word Napster uttered since, what, 2002?” Dick rolled his eyes and continued his work attempting to organize his desk, which was scattered in files and a couple mugs of coffee– all empty. “Think that CD is still at the manor somewhere.”

“You actually kept that? I think I had Blink 182 and Sum 41 on there.” 

“I hate you. Why do you have to keep saying that?”

“Because it’s stuck in my head and I want to annoy you. And because memes didn’t exist when we were fifteen.” 

“I’m sure they existed. We were just a little too preoccupied to have time on the internet back then. Trying to save the world and, at least for me, still go to school.”

“Well now we sound old as balls. You remember that first mixed CD I gave you? 100% pirated torrents from Napster.”

“I hate you. Why do you have to keep saying that?”

“Because it’s stuck in my head and I want to annoy you. And because memes didn’t exist when we were fifteen.”

“A sandwich ain’t a sandwich without sandwich things. ‘fraid your lunch got its sandwich status revoked.”

     You’d think that Roy has reached a point in his life where he can be a role model to children and an upstanding gentleman that his husband could be proud of. He had his good days, of course, but on some days, like today, he uncapped one of Lian’s scented markers and swiped a prominent pink line right across Dick’s cheek instead.

“… Did you just mark me with a sharpie?”

“No, I marked you with a scented marker. A pink one.” Don’t be a smartass, Roy.

          Dick didn’t even say anything. Just held up a file for a second.

Continuing the silence, he took the file from Dick’s hand and exchanged it for a fork.
